Forums - Gaming - I need everyone to be open-minded about this Gears 2 vs Resistance 2 video

I do think the video was a bit biased. Resistance 2 does not beat GOW2 in graphics, nor are they equal. GOW2 does look better then R2.R2 tho is a very large improvement over the first one graphically and gameplay wise.
GOW2= 1
R2=.5
Gameplay though I think it trully does go to R2. I mean 60 player online MP, 8player co op, long single campaign(the first one was already longer then most). GOW2 sounds a bit of same old same old. Slight tweaks here and there but nothing revolutionary added to the gameplay.
GOW2=1
R2=1.5

I still want them both, i might just have to wait a little bit longer for gears...money is not easy

I bought Gears of War for PC. I played it for about an hour and uninstalled it. Just didn't grab me. Graphics were pretty darn good (was playing on max settings).

I got Resistance a short while ago for PS3. The outdoor environments looked great mostly, but the indoor places were quite rotten. Samey tiled to death, boring and bland. I enjoyed the gameplay, though. Played coop with my brother and had a lot of fun.

Right now, I think graphics wise at least, Gears 2 > R2. I know there is talk of "polish" and what not. Guess w'ell see when they come out. I read an interview with Ted Price talking about their new awesome water effects eith dynamic reflections and ripples and a bunch of critters creating waves in lake or something. Can't wait.

This is kind of like GOW 1 vs Resistance 1. The campaigns were pretty good (though Gears was WAY short), both had quality coop and both had good graphics/gameplay. Where Resistance pulled ahead was in the multiplayer with 32+ person maps, a rank leveling system and a bunch of other stuff (compared with the dinky 4v4 gears system). It looks to be similar this time, as the video says. They are more or less tied on the single player, but the multiplayer options are heavily in R2s favor. As a bonus R2 will be free to play online, win.

Proud Owner of  a Wii and Xbox 360 and a PS3(When I get the money)

Wow another thread by PS3 fanboys trying to play up Resistance 2 after Resistance 1 got spanked hard by Gears of War 1.

It's funny how some PS3 fanboys are trying to play up FPS games. I remember when the Xbox got bashed badly for that and now it seems like PS3 fanboys must have secretly loved and envied the 'box.

Now that Sony has copied so much from the Xbox 360 (Xbox Live, FPS, etc) I now wish to congratulate PS3 owners on basically buying an Xbox 360.  Thanks for jumping in and welcome to the Xbox universe.  :)

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I think GOW2 has the upper hand, textures make a huge difference. The part were you fight the big monster in R2 shows how bad are some of them and also the little detail of the city.
