obviously the administration is to blame.
ownership economy does not work, that is mccain's financial view as well.
It would work if the rich bought american products but because of tax-benefitted outsourcing the trickle down effect is non-existant.
even if gas was not a problem, we would still be in a mess.
we are not in trouble because of gas. we are in trouble because the administration allows for something like gas to become a problem

I'm not claiming that Bush is a good steward of the ecconomy, but the problems in the ecconomy are hardly his fault alone ...

Pretty much, everyone who has had a hand in managing the ecconomy for the last 15 to 20 years has made several really bad decisions which provided short term benefit and had negative long term side effects. Bill Clinton changed regulations surrounding mortgages which allowed new exotic mortgages to appear which allowed people who could not afford a mortgage to get a mortgage, Alan Greenspan kept interest rates at historic lows which created bubbles (dot-com, housing bubble) and devalued the dollar pushing commodity prices to record highs, Wallstreet found new ways of structuring mortgage securities which "reduced risks" by eliminating any way to accurately measure the risk involved in buying mortgages which (as housing prices fell) created a liquidity crisis in the credit markets, for decades governments (in general) have bailed out uncompetitive companies (like auto manufacturers) rather than to let them fail which has just delayed the eventual collapse of these companies, and George W Bush's spending like a drunken sailor has increased total debt and eliminated all flexability to manage this situation.

Now, had Bush's mistakes not been made the American public might still have a tiny bucket (like the ones little children use to make sandcastles) to bail out the Titanic

Actually the McCain camp said "It's not worth it for you to make the trip out."

In otherwords. "Please don't come!"

They weren't expecting him to speak at all until he insisted.

They did everything they could to keep him out.  However you can only do so much, as the President is head of the party

For perfectly good reason, and I am pretty impressed how Republicans were able to distance themselves so well from a President with one of the worst approval ratings in history.  I think the bad economic news will hurt them more than the Democrats though, as blame usually falls on the President's party's shoulders.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I wonder what Hitler's approval rating was early in his control of Germany.

(No, I am not comparing anybody to Hitler, but I see a lot about approval rating being used to equate the quality of the leader.)

Hahaha how did I KNOW bigjon was a republican? Republican just give off this certain vibe, don't they?

Sarah Palin, once again, has no foreign policy experience, takes more money per person than any other governor in the US, and has her experience governing ALASKA!

Alaska's entire population is less that 700,000! Yet we are going to allow her to be the back up plan for the oldest president in history?

What are people smoking? McCain either:
A. Voted for what he believed in and supported Bush's ideas, which have systematically broken down our economy, international image, and drove our government in to a record debt.
B. Voted in line with his party, which is what many politicians do of course, but then he wants to come around and tell us that he will "change" America by cutting taxes and continuing a war that drove up gas prices and debt in the first place? Hes just the party tool again with a predetermined agenda. The same agenda that is killing America right now.

Get the hell out of here with this crap about kindergarten!!!!

4. Sex ed for kindergarten? Who CARES!? LOL. Seriously, we all know its not as black and white as that, but its not Obama's choice ultimately what your kids do, its yours. What we need in America is a leader who will stay out of these petty issues and concentrate on whats important to me. (Money, protection, quality of living, fairness within business and government services.)

Gay marriage? WhoTF cares?
Abortion? If your not going to have one anyways whoTF cares? Mind your damn business!

Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it should be illegal. Instead of concentrating on the very real issues our country is facing right now right-wing politicians have been waving around this personal issues and making them national problems.

What I want? Fix the economy, control the out of control politicians and corporations who are milking the American people then exporting on money to invest in other places, giving other countries our jobs. I don't want someone to interfere with my personal life, just keep the American dream alive. My beliefs and morals are my own, and if it doesn't directly affect or offend anyone outside of my home then leave me the hell alone. American people are too easily controlled by religion, but no one is forcing you to believe or not to believe in God. If you think what Bush has done for the last 8 years is God's will, then quite frankly, your probably going to hell regardless of your stance on gay marriage. I'm pretty sure voting to preserve life is more important than going against gay marriage in God's eyes, no?

@Madsillz - I never said I needed a reason to hate him but hypocrisy is never a good thing.

Also your couple things on your  list is laughable. Way to blame all of the GOP for Katrina, im sure there were no Democrats involved what so ever.

So you hate her for realizing the bridge was a bad idea and used the money for much better projects? Is she a flip flopper? Well then isnt Obama a flip flopper when it comes to politics since he was against old politics but now uses them?

Like I said I am leaning to Obama so I would prefer it if I didnt find something I dislike.

Oh and Fox is bias dont forget MSNBC is too and CNN which is most moderate leans a little left aswell.

Dude, I can list a few things about Palin.

First, she's facing an abuse of power investigation. An investigation. If she's found guilty, off the ticket she goes. And you do realize if she is found guilty, she's an emotional nutcase who will be a heartbeat away from the presidency? Sorry, but I don't want to have a president who will invade or obliverate a country because its leader calls her a cunt. Nah, we don't need folks in office like that.

Next, the jury is still out about her pregnancy and whether or not Trig is her baby or not.

Next, the bridge talk - she is talking about thanks but no thanks to it. Sorry, but she dropped it when it became an albatross. Serioiusly, to tout it and invite criticism ... hmmm. I dunno, but I'd try to make myself a small target, not a large one.

Also, what about the extra expenses on her expense report? Flying family around on the state's dime? And when is she gonna release her tax returns?

And ... what questions has she faced? She's clueless. And you think she can lead? She's just one lapdance from being pres. She was tossed softballs by Charlie Gibson on ABC. When is she gonna get grilled? Why is the McCain folks hiding her? And what about her response on the Bush doctrine?

She's hot, but that's all she's got. Seriously, she's probably a good mother, but Hillary would have been a better choice instead of her. McCain saw a big butt and a smile.

And let's not talk about the U.S. economy. All of this is on the GOP's watch. To vote for GOP again is to gladly say I agree with this foolishness for another 4 years.

I truly hope McCain wins so we can see how far the U.S. can fall and really be a laughinstock of the world. Then, the next Dem will walk in - nah, the GOP will create another lie and fools will believe it and we'll slide even further back.

Wow, I miss the Clinton years. I miss the low unemployment, the budget surplus and the economy soaring. What do we have 8 years later? A mess.

And, I do blame the GOP for Katrina. Bush said Brownie was doing a heck of a job and folks were DYING and begging for aid. Why didn't anyone in the admin stand up and say 'Get those folks some aid!' Out of touch. And McCain and Palin will change this. I hope someone bookmarks this page and comes back 4 years from now and says 'Ok, did they fulfill their promises?' I can tell you - Not so much.

Obama isn't perfect, but he's much better than McCain. Wanna see another economic meltdown and more dead Americans in Iraq? Vote McCain/Palin 08 because neither of those clowns have a clue.

It's time for change - and McCain's party has had 8 years to prove what they can do. NOTHING.

Sorry, but 8 years is enough. Folks, if they want change, will vote for Obama. However, if they are like 'I won't vote for him because he's black,' vote for McCain. If they are happy making less now than they did 8 years ago, vote McCain. If you want to see more U.S. jobs shipped overseas, vote McCain. If you want to see more folks in debt because they can't afford health care, vote McCain. Lastly, if you truly believe McCain is Country First, yet lies even when he's on the Straight Talk Express, vote McCain.

Obama is blaming Bush Administration for the economic mess we are in right now.
What a typical Politician.
I believe now more than ever that McCain is the better man for the job.

Republicans and Democrats are at fault for the mess - who is going to make the change? Obama? I don't think so.

don't be fooled into thinking he is going to change anything - he is the same as clinton and bush.

Are you saying that 8 years of Republican rule isn't the cause of this mess? Please, get a clue.

Clinton left a record budget surplus, low unemployment, expanded middle class and a great economic outlook. Let's look at what Bush is leaving behind. No surplus, 6.1 percent unemployment, a recession and an economic meltdown. Call it what it is. I'd trade Clinton any day of the week vs. Bush. Bush proved during his days in business and governing Texas that he was clueless. And fools thought he would be awesome? ROTFLMBO.

Political Discussions are fun.

I love them so much.

On a related note, I should register to vote.

that comment about the pig was definately a stab at palin. he knew how it would appear...and thats why he said it. he could easily used another saying to express himself without any sort of issue. he chose that because he could insult palin as well as appear to be in context with what he was talking about. obama is a lot of things...but he isnt a complete idiot.

How so? He didn't hint at her with the pig reference - and if you say he did, you would also have to consider what he said about fish wrapped in newspaper. Is he referring to her menstrual period?

Dang - if you are gonna take stuff out of context, take all of it, and don't cherry pick.

Besides, McCain did refer to Hillary as lip stick on a pig. This is true - he did, son.

did you actually read my post?  you are aware of Palins comment about being a bulldog with lipstick?  your posts seem to be just a lot of willful ignorance tbh.   there is no reason to suggest mccains comment was anything more than what it was...solely about her policies...had hillary made a comment similar to Palins then i would have thought it was a veiled attack on hillary.  but she didnt...and it wasnt.  so he didnt refer to her like that.  this is true - he didnt, son.

?????????

I'm confused. Can you type this in English, please?
