I think 60k consoles in 2 days is quite okay. or do u think they sold a great amount of units 3 days before the pricecut? so almost all sold xbox360 happened in 1 or 2 days

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

What happens if cutting prices to the bone doesn't drive huge sales? Anyone remember the Dreamcast cutting prices to the bone and still not picking up any steam? I think history might very well repeat itself here. Maybe Americans are more willing to pay more for quality then some would think these days.

 ==> SO TRUE !!!!!

And ur avatar, the new james bond, good !!!

+10 for you !

Time to Work !

Last week it sold around 50k. The price cut took place on the 5th and the sales end on the 6th. That is the day of the price cut and the day after. It picked up 25k+ more consoles in just those two days.

Now take that and add it up until next week sales, plus the timed exclusive of Rock Band 2.

Guess we will find out next week if it does increase that much.

While the price cut was made official on the 5th, there are a few factors to consider.

1)The sales tracking only go up to the 6th.
2)It was widely assumed the cut would happen on the 7th, and the cut was made official on the 5th only a few days before.
3)Many won't even know about the cut until they get their ads in the sunday paper, on the 7th.

So I think this week would be more telling as to whether the cut was effective.

By that logic, the PS3 should have died last year when Sony made their $100 - $200 price cut less than a year after launching(I know that's not what it really was, but if you don't strongly follow gaming news, that's what it looked like).

Also by the logic of your last sentence, the PS3 should've been outselling the 360 last year when RRoD news was in full swing.

The only thing that I would consider to resemble the Dreamcast this gen is the PSP. Where are the software sales? PSP is a pirate's dream this gen, just like the Dreamcast was last gen.

The 360 still sells gangbusters on software regardless of how much more systems they sell from this day on. The market is just saturated right now. PS3 is the next thing to buy if you already own a 360. PS3 will eventually saturate also.
