Of course they're working on a successor console. So are Sony and Nintendo. This is just how the industry works.

But 2011 or 2012? I don't believe that for a moment. 2010 at the latest.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.

OT you mean MS, Sony and Nintendo don't let their Development staff take 2 to 3 year breaks after each console? They expect them to work every day like every other paid employee and start thinking about the next console the second the latest is out the door, if not before?
