Forums - General - Your top 3 Videogame songs this gen. What are they?

Sometimes games have such an incredible soundtrack (or maybe just a song or two) that are so great, they can outlive the game itself and become a musical icon in and of themself (how many people a super mario bros ring tone?). While not every song is destined for such extrodinary legendary status, sometimes there are just songs you love and listen to even when you're just washing the dishes. Each gen produces it's gems, so far what songs or soundtracks do you love the most?

For me it's these three. In no particular order (I couldn't decide, you can put them in order if you like)

Still Alive: Glados and Jonathan from Portal

The Virgin Child Makes Her Wish Without Feeling Anything: No More Heroes (artist I'm not sure of, need to find out)

The Gusty Garden Galaxy: Koji Kondo from Super Mario Galaxy

super mario galaxy song.....?

id say something from katamari damacy, which actually won awards for the soundtrack unlike mario

I'm putting up a vote for Still Alive and that's it. Everything else is so far behind that they're not worth mentioning.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Still alive is really frikkin awesome. I have it on my Ipod and it gets played frequently. It was hilarious the first time, but now it's just catchy.

still alive will get a vote, but honestly the more i hear it, the more i hate it for being rediculously nerdy and hipster.

1. Still Alive (yes, it's the best. Even months after finishing Portal I still listen to it and it makes me smile everytime I do)

2. Kimi no Kioku (AKA Memories of You, the credit roll theme for Persona 3, it's not from this gen, but the game was released in 2007, so it should count)

Burn My Dread (Opening Theme from Persona 3, and the reincarnation version is even better)

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Everything from Everday Shooter.
The Loco Roco Cocorrecho music is awesome too!
Lair had a pretty good soundtrack.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
