Since these threads seem standard issue for anyone who buys a new console/handheld, i figure i'd make my own.

So... I bought a Gamecube with a couple controllers, memory card and Mario Party 4 for $25. Not bad since it's in pretty good shape.

Anyhow, recommend away, just one thing to keep in mind. Don't recommend games that are also on PS2. Chances are I already played and/or beat them. Stick to games that were GC exclusive or didn't make it to the PS2.

Custom Robo, Star Fox Assault, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Alien Hominid (if you don't have it already), Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, both Metroid Prime games, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, F-Zero GX, 007: Nightfire (yeah, I know, but it's definitely the second best Bond game after GoldenEye), both Rogue Squadron games, both Pikmins, Super Mario Sunshine... And I think I'm missing a few.

Damn, the GameCube had amazing games!

I only played on my brothers GC but the games we played were loads of fun... Mario Kart Double Dash and Smash Brs. Melee are fantastic multiplayer games... top notch... I also really like Zelda: Windwaker... I loved the style... also Battalion Wars was really fun... and Pilotwings... oh wait  Nintendo didn´t make one since the 64 days... bastards...

Why did you buy a GameCube? Isn't buying a Wii a better idea?

Because a gamecube goes for $25 while a Wii goes for $250... and I want to catch up on games I missed last gen.

I see Ikaruga was on GC but is pretty pricey.

i had so much fun with nightfire, i am glad i am not the only one, i bought that game without reading reviews so nothing influenced my purchase, i don't think i would've bought that game if i read any reviews of it, i stopped caring about reviews after that game

You know where to gat a Wii with extras for 25$ ??? Yeah... I thought not... besides nothing beats having the original... I´m looking for a cheap Snes on ebay because my buddy and me keep getting into arguments about not having a controller that does justice to our skills that we aquired in years of training... expecially in Street Figher 2 you need the controller you used to have as you learned how to play it...
