A little common sense and reading comprehension is a beautiful thing. The sales increases reported are over the PREVIOUS WEEK. The price drops were leaked before they happened, so that PREVIOUS WEEK(S) saw people hold off until the price drop (as always happens for any console with leaked price drops). A sales increase over a down week is not as newsworthy as it might seem at first glance.
Keep this in mind when reading what I type...
I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.
Last week:
Xbox: 51.978
PS3: 72479
double that for the xbox
103.000 xbox
I don't know where you learned to count...

NPD numbers are couple of hours away so we should wait. I doubt 360 did 50k week before price cut.

Yet if VGC numbers are true, then the X360 will sell well above 80,000 units, and could hit as high as 105,000 - which would be pretty noteworthy, no?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Those aren't last week's numbers. Those are from the week before.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
I'm not expecting a dramatic surge this week. If sales have doubled, then they will only have doubled for a couple of days. It will be the following week before we see what effect the price drop has on sales. I'm sure there will be a spike because people were aware of the price cut, but also we probably won't be able to see what the sales settle at until after the Xmas holidays.
This porbably won't stop a deluge of people posting that the price cut failed though.
Does anyone else notice that Microsoft releases some sort of positive sales news on the day before NPD numbers are released? I know that it is important to maintain a positive attitude, but this is getting to be a bit much.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
