Unfortunately, that isn't the case.  The only thing you can do is adjust the volume, control when the note plays, and... something else, not sure.  Yushire put up a good link earlier:

Extremely limited, I know.  I'm still not totally sure where I stand on how much it'll sell, we haven't quite seen all the features yet.  From just what we've seen though, even at this stage it should be capable of a few million.

@yushire:  I'd love for a game like Wii Music to crush GTA4.  Wii Music is a creative idea nobody has tried yet, as opposed to GTA4 - another sequel, one that lacks innovation, and the developers just strive for realism as opposed to new ideas.  People will get bored of these low-risk, high budget sequels - we need something new to keep gaming alive and interesting.

What I really want is for Wii win the console war, MS and SONY admits defeat and make 3rd parties FORCED to develop a game for the Wii so we dont have to discuss this again.

Even how much I dont like casual games I still want Ninty to win and dominate this generation for us not to choose on what console or games we have to buy. And end this dillema we're having since the Wii is released. Even how much I dont like casual that much I WANT NINTY TO CRUSH SONY AND MS...

Haha, if it's third party support you want, there's no doubt it will come, it's only a matter of time.  As long as HD consoles are as healthy as they are, though, the Wii won't be able to get all the support.  It'll certainly get much better than the crap we've put up with for the Wii's first two years, though.

I wasn't impressed with Wii music at all! I thought it may court some parents into playing video games with their kids, but we hardcores aren't going to like it very much- at least I know I don't!

I hope Ninty will bleed money out of MS and SONY for this to end. I mean how many of billions of more  for MS and SONY to bleed before they give up?

that's complete BS...go check up Wii Music again..you need to press buttons (depending on the instrument)

but it does not matter what you press..and you can press them whenever you want..so you can play it as fast or slow as you want..or make variations..

as we saw at E3, playing multiplayer you have to TIME right..or you WILL suck..

so it's not as bad as it sounds...>_>

Lol to all the haters, you do realize that you give Nintendo the free pucblicity that they counted on having with this game.

Al the hae has turned up the curiosity of the gamers that wouldn´t think about buying this game and you have essentially secured thid game to be a hit through your complaints.

LAWL of course it is, why the bashing in the first place? The more bashers the more popular the product was... I've never seen any bashing regarding the movie game an eyetoy rip off on xbox 360 or scene it 2 and lips in any forums...

Well in the case of the Wii this seems to be more true then othervise.

Wii Music is a Nintendo copy of Rock Band.
Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero 4 will provide competition on the Wii alone that will appear a lot more attractive to gamers seeking a challenge. The Wii Music demonstration at E3 showed us that Wii Music has no challenge at all and is merely button mashing to make musical instrument sounds.
