@fuegonian

Oh! LMAO!!!
sorry mate...lol..I thought you were in the U.S.

On topic, Army of Two is worth your money, you and your girlfriend's brother time also. I would take stab at the game. I'm going to purchase it myself. Sometime down the road, but for you I would get Army of Two..

Eh, I wasn't too fond of Army of Two. It had some great ideas, but overall poorly executed. The controls felt sloppy. Hard to explain, but for some reason I never felt like I had complete control over my character. I didn't like how the weapons felt. The level design was mediocre and the enemy placement/spawn points was crappy. It felt like guys were just coming from everywhere randomly. And the game is very short, so I would recommend renting it.

I haven't played Mercenaries 2 yet, so I can't comment on it.

And I don't know if you already know this, but both games only feature online co-op. Which basically means that you will be playing over the internet, even though your PS3's are within spitting distance of each other. Why oh why can't developers add LAN options to their multiplayer games?

Easily Merc 2...

Army of Two is a very linear game... Pretty good but not great... More "forced co-op" scenarios but some new ideas to the FPS co-op concept... I didn't find the story that great though and felt the game was never really completed to what it could be.

Merc 2 is a fun open world game. It will last a lot longer and it is a lot of fun to just take out an RPG and blow something up because you want to... There are many different mission types (Take over an area, capture a high value target person, destroy a well protected building, etc.) and some challenges (Shooting targets with different weapons, races, grappling with a helicopter, experimental vehicles tests, etc.). Lots more types of weapons and more variety in how you can do missions at your own pace and how you want to (Call in air strikes, air support, etc.).

Okay, the plot has thickened...
I just went to buy two copies of AO2, but they only had one left, $69. There were two Mercs 2 copies at $79 each. I also noticed Haze for $44...

Please don't ridicule me too much...

So now should I:

1) Buy AO2 from there and source a copy some where else.

2) Buy Mercs 2 at $79 each.

3) Buy Haze at $44 each.

Two months ago i never considered owning Haze, but now its cheap enough to justify.

I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I’m thinking, okay, here’s a gal who’s capable of making a decision she’ll regret in the future.

If I was you I would either buy Ao2 or Mercs 2, while I haven't played Haze you can just look at the reviews and knows it sucks balls.

I think you should buy both Ao2 and Mercs 2 and then let me know which one is better because I might actually get a good 2 person co-op game for me and my gf lol.

Both are fun for 2 people. I played AoT form start to finish with a friend. A lot fun, what to say more. Enemy AI is perfect, but if you play single your computer partner is the problem. AoT is a linear shooter like Gears of War with very good visuals and very good gameplay. One of the best games for 2008 IMO.
Merce2 is a nonlinear open world game like GTA. I'm 43% in it. It has more problems. Enemy AI is low and you will see many bugs and gliches, but the game is fun too no mater single or multi. Its offer an enormous world with so many things to do and so many vehicles to drive and buildings to blown up. If you have enough money, buy them both.

Well i just bought two copies of Army of Two, i'll let you know if i made the right decision in the comming days.
Thanks to those that participated.

Any help/advice to make sure i'm better than my mate?

I would say by neither and wait for R2 being released in 4 weeks. AO2 is good fun, but linear as pointed out. Merc2 is Sandbox game and you would rather have a shooter.

R2 will most likely be better then both the above games and miles better then Haze. Considering how expensive the games are, you rather be patient and buy a game that is AAA quality.

The idea in AoT is not to be better then your mate, but to help each other. If you both just storm to the front and didn't care what your partner is doing you will fell miserable. Cooperative play is the way to go. You need to cover each other. Flanking maneuver should be the most used tactic, when the other partner holds enemy attention. Aggro is the key word for victory.

Pay attention to the training mission on the start of the game. Actually the only part of the game I didn't like, cos it was a little annoying, but it shows the important aspects of the game.

You really didn't need to buy two copies of Army of Two. You could of both played it on the same PS3. I don't know if the same is for Mercs 2 though.
I guess if you didn't want it to split the screen which to me isn't a legit reason to spend money on another game than its rational for you.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.
