How many examples does he give?
thats exactly why they are bringing out the 160gb. besides the installs depend on the developer. uncharted and cod4 have no installs and they have like 1 second loading times.

This install malarky is just another hammer *xbox360 fanboys* will hit the PS3 over the head with. Just as the PS3 becomes popular, something comes along to bring the naysayers back. "Too expensive" then "No games!" then "No JRPGs!" (because suddenly every *xbox360 fanboy* was a fan of JRPGs now **xbox360 fanboys** says"Installs suck ass!" " no wait Mandatory installs suck optional kick ass " Its beyond ridiculous. Buy a bigger hard drive people! |
fixed colonel
It may be beneficial for the load times but i think it is becoming a problem. 40gb PS3, including mine, are beginning ti fill up and deleting is not the ideal solution.
I think sony should give developers a deadline beyond which they should charge extra royalties for disk space, like MS charges for extra disks.
Since they already support the developers with knowledge, that should stop those lazy developers who load stuff to the disk. If Uncharted can look that good with only 1 short load in the entire game, then anyone can do it.
PSN ID: T_Gears
End of 2009 ltd sales:
Wii = 67-68m
X360 = 38-39m
PS3 = 34-35m
Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).
I honestly don't see how this is any different from Memory Cards last generation. Did everyone throw a hissy fit when Sony forced you to buy them to save game data when Microsoft didn't? What about when a person filled their memory card? What did they do then? Did they go complain on the internet? No, they either got another one or deleted data they weren't using.
Why is it that Memory cards were exceptable 3 years ago, but mandatory installs aren't when they act the same?

Memory cards are still the standard, both the ps2 and wii use it. And so does the 360 arcade.
The thing is sony isnt forcing anything, its the developers that force it on you.
There is really no need for ANY installs AT ALL, for ANY of the games that have released. Developers are just lazy and dont feel like working further on to the PS3 hardware. Uncharted looks better than most games on any console, and has amazingly better loading times than most games on any console, and yet it contians no install at all. Same thing with call of duty 4, identicle on the PS3 and XBOX 360 ,and no install.

yes it is. if you run out of space you have to waste money on a bigger hard drive. thats 100 of money wasted on the ps3.
The PS3 Hard drive is like a fridge, when you dont need things anymore you just throw them away.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
