Forums - Gaming - Tales of Vesperia Coming to PS3

I love how the people like to throw the word timed exclusive and expecting it to come to the ps3.

Out of 8 Namco "timed" exclusives only one has come to the ps3, also it was announced it would be coming to the ps3 before it even launch of the 360 version. (I am talking about Eternal Sonata)

Beautiful Katamari
Culdcept Saga
Eternal Sonata
The Idolm@ster
The Idolmaster: Live For You!
Love Football
Tales of Vesperia
Ace Combat 6

I still remember my good old days in Gametrailers when Ace Combat 6 was a good old timed exclusive....I wonder when that time will run out.

yes this is true, it was originally pencilled in for ps360, then went 360 only, it will be timed like eternal sonata.

if eternal sonata sells more on ps3 then namco should be condemed for that, as they choose backpayment, over raising thier gaming profile

Namco don't need to raise their gaming profile.

They are just choosing to put their JRPG's on the only next generation system that has been proven to sell that genre.

Oh, don't start man. There's no way it can end well, and no point if it did.

I do hope ToV goes multiplat. Great game, imo. I like it when great games can be played by more people.

I'm sick of elitist PS3 fans saying things like "Japanese devs have no credibility because they made a title Xbox 360 exclusive."  Vesperia sold excellently on the Xbox 360, as have many other JRPG's.

didnt enchanted arms sell better on ps3 then 360?

thats very sad if you still think 360 can sell more RPGs.

Total sales of JRPG's on the Xbox 360 exceed 2 million.

On the PS3, im not sure if they reach 200k................

Let's just make sense when you're going to post something,

how many JRPG do PS3 have compare to 360?

If we are going to compare, compare the same title that both PS360 have,

like example,Enchant Arm,and i'm pretty sure that you do know the sales of Enchant Arm on PS3 did higher than 360.

If you still want to compare over the sales, let's just wait til the release of Eternal Sonata.

Then we are going to know which system sells JRPG.

A system that only sell 840 units perweek in Japan is going to sell JRPG?

You gotta be kidding me

Sounds like grammar from the Mccain campaign. I'll have assumed you worked for them if you didn't live in Australia. What on earth has "elitist" got to do with that kind of argument?

I said that the Xbox 360 is the only console with a demonstrated ability to sell large quantities of JRPG's.  Thus far, the numbers show that to be true.

I believe Namco said that in the case of Vesperia the exclusivity had something to do with a delay in receiving PS3 dev kits.

And you're plain wrong. The Wii demonstrated that it can clearly sell more JRPG. The crappy spin-off of Tales of Symphonia sold more than the big main Tales of Vesperia. So far, the numbers show that to be true.

Given Namco's initial expectations of 500k units of ToV, the prospect is not good, like not good at all.

I'm not even sure they can break even with 500k, as with ToS, 300k in Japan alone wasn't enough. And they're far from even 200k in Japan.

Total sales of top five JRPG's on Wii = around 1 million.  (thats INCLUDING a Dragon Quest game)

Total sales of top five JRPG's on Xbox 360 - around 2 million (not including ANY established IP)

Edit:  I await your signed apology and pledge to be my servant for all time

You classified DQ:swords as a DQ game? LMAO

Starcraft is right about the sales. Does anyone really believe the game sold poorly on the 360? However, the game will come to the PS3. There is no doubt about it. Its a crying shame if it didn't.

Disgaea 3 is selling worse on PS3 then Vesperia on 360. We can expect a port then of that too?

 So Disgaea is a JRPG?

Actually yes, it is also SRPG. It is both SRPG and JRPG....but it did horrible in sales regardless.

I expect he'll use any unreasonable excuses to "proof" that JRPG sells better on 360 than any other console.

For example,including DQ:Swords as a DQ game

Disgaea is just too niche to be compared to anything. Did you check out its sales on the almighty ps2? If the ps2 couldn't sell it. Trust me, no system can.

Even the DS version didn't sell Jack

Compare Disgaea to Tales of Vesperia?

If you're not a big fan of Disgaea series,

i would just say that you are humour enough.

LMAO.

@stevechan

Try to make sense when you post something and stop using any unreasonable excuses to 'proof' something.

If you still dont realise the complete facepalm situation youre in (which I kinda suspect you wont judging from your posting), then let me give you a slight nudge - why did the 360 sell 840 this week?
