Some people value brand name more than the video games themselves I guess...

That is true I do pay a little more for my Sony Tv cause its a sony but there are limits.  I can get why everyone wants MS out of the race.  I have a PS2 and was a huge Sony Fan and some day will have a PS3, but people forget the arrogance sony had when they came out with the PS3.  $600.00 for a console is INSANE.  You cant price it over $400.00 and $300.00 is ideal with $200.00 mass market.

Sony thought they could win by putting PS3 on it and have learned they cant.  I applaud them for changing tact as there game library has grown more impressive so havent there sales.

Ms games has had a STRONG lineup of games for western audiences and I have enjoyed over 50 of them

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

It's too bad that Microsoft isn't in this to just make money, but to stop Sony from taking over the living room, which IMO they are doing a pretty good job.

I honestly think that Microsoft is willing to lose more money than that, especially if you start looking at the operating income of their other departments that depend on Windows.

And that's sad considering Sony and Nintendo care about their customers while M$ is only concerned with beating Sony lol, which explains their hysterical 33% failure rate. They should focus on keeping the consumer happy rather than just trying to go after Sony which in turn they could still lose at. Sure they've put a dent in Sony's market but I'd rather have Sony and Nintendo make THEIR OWN products unlike M$ who just throws money at everyone.

Are you serious?  The 33% failure rate was due to them putting out a console before it was ready, MS is not a hardware manufacturer and it showed.   Who the Heck thinks SOny and Ninetendo care about there customers?  They are in it to make money just like MS if you think differently your diluted.

The last line is so ridiculous I wont even comment.  I am not a fan of MS as a compnay but if Sony or Ninetendo could have a monopoly on consoles they gladly would and it wouldnt be good for you and me

^ I agree. Look what they've done already will two consoles. They've put Sony so deep in the hole (In terms of lost money), and have taken control of the HD market in the second largest market. I think that they're here to stay.

Actually Sony's early mistakes caused most of this and yes I would like to see M$ TAKE A HIKE and maybe Sega make a come back. At least Sega made THEIR OWN produ

Who cares who makes it MS designed it, Dell these days wants to contract out the manufacturing

This is a perfect example of - "how to lose respect on a forum:101"

It's over for the 360 if games like Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and Heavy Rain get exceptional review scores and it will make things tougher for the PS3 if they don't.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

Say what you will but with all the exclusive games, xbox live arcade that owns anything other competitors can offer and a great online I don't feel like MS is only going after Sony...but is indeed treating me...the consumer...right.

Mind you i've not had an RROD or dealt with microsoft customer service. However I certanly think MS treats the gamer better than lets say...Nintendo...which cares only about profits and couldn't be bothered to secure some exclusive games that aren't internally developed which Nintendo doesn't plan on developing. In the FPS market for example...

Well said and the arcade is squarley aimed at the WII crowd.  MS actually is also has the best support ot thrid party developers, they are not a saint but no company is be defintion a company is in buisness to make money

You're kidding right? NO company in the WORLD cares about their customers altruistically. It's all to make profit:

If Sony cared about it's customers it would:

- Buy exclusivity in no matter the cost to bring games to it's customers

- It wouldn't release one of (if not) the most expensive console of all time

- You would have had dual shock built in

- Extend warranty for free beyond 1 year (lifetime warranty perhaps)

- Charge $60 USD for a game, $110 AUD here.

- Backwards Compatibility would be available FOR ALL CONSOLES AND IT WOULD BE FULL COMPATIBILITY

If Nintendo cared about it's customers it would:

- Buy 3rd party support

- Not release so many high price peripherals

- Drop console prices

- Increase console production

- Introduce a solution to the storage issue the console has

- Provide a decent online experience

I'm not saying MS is a saint, far from it, but if you believe Nintendo and Sony are any better as a company, you've just bought into the smiling faces of Reggie and whomever is head of sony these days. You do realise that Nintendo were bastards during the NES and SNES era due to their stranglehold on the market right? and that Sony were equally villainous when they introduce the playstation and stole ALL of Nintendo's 3rd party franchises right?

Also, I've noticed an increase of sony fans shouting the praises of the PSWii, is it because the Wii makes up for the deficiencies of the PS3 that you have to latch onto it like a leech in order to surpass the 360? (I know it's flamebait, but it had to be said, I've noticed an increase in it and I think it's absolutely disgusting that the PS3 fans aren't proud of the PS3's accomplishments, so they have to use the banner "PSWii" in order to make themselves look better as Nintendo looks so good right now).

Couldnt have said it better

Well, the 360 is def moving towards 3rd place and fast.....but the next XBOX shouldn't have RROD or any other hardware kinds of problems though I do think that it won't be able to be the budget choice as easily as it has in this gen, b/c it is going to have to have a Blu ray drive, and the processing power to actually use the BD drive. Then again, they'll be giving money to Sony for BD roayalties on every BD game sold so it might be more of the same for M$.

LOL at this statement.

1. Nintendo is the best in customer service and support.

2. Nintendo has a history in making the most reliable consoles.

3. The fact that their first party games are so good shows that yes, they treat their customer right... they didn't announce anything "traditional" at E3, so what? we have other shows and I'm sure Nintendo has good games in the works.

4. Why would they secure exclusivity the Microsoft way? the Wii sales alone make it the best system to develop exclusives for. Cheap developement compared to PS3/360, rapidly growing and already big fanbase, a console that has potential in both hardware and motion control (which I admit to not liking, but lots of other people do)... the Wii will end it's cycle with lots of amazing exclusives, first and thrid party.

5. No FPS? The Conduit says hi.

6. About Nintendo caring for it's cutomers: see VC. They are bringing awesome games from the past, for you to own legally and at a reasonable price. Sounds good to me.

lol @ slamming Nintendo and saying Microsoft cares for its customers more. Releasing a faulty product that made you terrible losses+losses for the consumer (DVD's scratched by the console due to faulty disc drive for example), does not count as caring for consumers.

The only credit I can give Microsoft is the XBL online sevice and the XBLA store. Both awesome... also, they now have a great library, which is good too.

Boah this is BS. MS does everything the customers want them to do. Talking about games they really work hard to get former PS-exclusives or related games on their console.

  • GTA
  • Devil May Cry
  • Final Fantasy
  • Don't let me start with JRPGs or XBox Live Arcade

MS does a very good job to satisfy their customers. That is why they are getting a decent marketshare.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
