Forums - Nintendo - Why can't Nintendo tell the time.

Is it just my bad luck or do all GameCube and Wii internal clocks run way too fast.

I remember checking my GameCube clock occasionally (although it didn't have much use except in the odd game like Animal Crossing and Rogue Squadron) and it seemed to have advanced a good 5 minutes ahead of real-time within a month. I have had watches that won't even be a minute out after a whole year.

The Wii now seems to be doing the same, perhaps not quite so fast as the GameCubes, but still not very accurate.

Has anyone else noticed this? or have they noticed it not to be the case (so just my hardware has poor clocks) and if the DS has a clock, how good is it?

Actually, come to think of it, just a few days ago I set my Wii's time back 10 minutes or so. I've had it for over a year...

As for the DS, I know at least mine is right on the money because I use it for my alarm clock.

My Gamecube's clock is always really ahead I find.

my CG and DS clocks have always run right on the money. can't say i've checked my wii clock since i set it to notice.

Whoa, I just set my Wii clock back 11 minutes today. Coincidence? Or fate?!

Yeah, coincidence...

Well it was mostly recently for the Wii.

I think I mentioned on here about a year ago that the Wii was a much better clock than my GC was, but over the past 6 months I have set it twice, about 6 minutes back in March/April and another 8 minutes yesterday.

Ha, three of us reset the clock within the last few days....it can't be just me.

I suspect the DS clock might run from it's main battery like phone or laptop clocks do, wheras the GC and Wii use little standard batteries to power the clock when the console is off, so perhaps using the main battery in a mobile devide is a superior power source to an average watch battery.

What a coincidence.

I just had to set my Wii clock back 5 minutes last night.

Hmm, never noticed it really (mostly cuz I usually just click on a channel right away), but I shall keep an eye out for it in the future.

The clocks are set to the sidereal day, not the solar day.

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.
