Forums - Microsoft - Even if (or when) the 360 ends up in 3rd, would you consider MS successful?

Given they´re finally making profits, managed to really put variety in the 360´s library of games and will surely surpass the original Xbox´s install base (though by how many units is anyone´s guess).

Given all that, do you already consider the Xbox brand a successful one?

what does my post or this thread have to do with sony?

It depends--if somehow Sony beats the hell out of them (which I don't believe will happen), or if they have an overall loss (not taking into account the RRoD losses) then probably not. However, they're on the path to long-term profitability, the brand is generally well-liked (or at least respected, like in Europe), they will obviously beat the original Xbox and the Gamecube by quite a bit, and third parties are doing fantastic on it.

So yes, definitely.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Yes, they have been successful. My guess is if they can really make a strong box next gen, and make it reliable, Sony will have a hard time competing.

Of course. In fact, they only thin they really did wrong this gen was RRoD. Everything else was minor at best.

And they are expected to about double the life time sales of the 360 from the Xbox. I'd say its quite a success. Plus, they also said that they will start becoming profitable, this year and onward.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
