Character development seems to be little more than character backstories to you doesn't it.  However, character development also means how a character changes through out the game.  In fact, Kingdom Hearts has better character development than a lot of JRPGs

 

 Maybe I missed the mountains of development that the characters underwent in this game. Could you explan it to me?

The game is the most overrated pile of **** and doesn't deserve a tenth of the sales it got.

The combat system is so bad, it makes the game unplayable. I cannot understand how you can make a combat system that bad.

Sora had to go through many obstacles to find his friends and as a result became more mature.

Riku has to deal with the fact that he had darkness in his heart and didn't want Sora to see him knowing that.  However, thanks to the efforts of Sora, he finally was freed from the darkness.

I am not so sure about what to say about Kiari but I will say that she did have to go through a lot of be reunited with Sora and Riku.

 

I'm not sure if this is character development to you but it is to me.

Taels executes things well though. You really need magic in the game, and special attacks, and the normal attacks. KH is basically attack with X and heal every once in a while. Things need to be more evened out. Besides that it's good.

Umm...it just has some battle system flaws (nothing huge though) but other than that I like the story/characters/music/whatever else.

Agreed. Battle system has minor flaws but was still very fun as well as benefiting from a great story, engaging characters, and probably some of the best English VA ever in a JRPG
