Forums - PC - Apparently a movie based on Dungeon Siege came out early this year.

http://www.inthenameoftheking.com/

Wow, apparently a movie based off of the popular computer game Dungeon Siege, titled "In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale" and was released on January 11th of this year.

I am surprised it managed to get released without many in the video game world even noticing, or at least I didn't notice.  They must have done a bad job on advertising and seem to have failed to make it obvious enough that it is a movie based on the game dungeon siege.

After reading reviews it sounds like it was really bad and it got horrible box office sales.  If they wanted it to sell well they should have at least advertised the fact that it was a movie based on Dungeon Siege, sort of like how there are plenty of people who would buy anything with the name Halo on it.

Has anyone here heard about it or seen it?

We knew all about it. It's a Uwe Boll film though, so people didn't support it out of principal.

I watched it. It was quite a disappointment. It still had outlandish casting, bad writing, an inconsistent hodge podge of copycat stunts and styles and a lame plot, but Boll seems to be getting increasingly competent as he goes. Just enough so that it doesn't become hillariously bad like House of the Dead or Alone in the Dark.

I do have hopes for his next film "Postal", but after that, I'm gonna take a pass on Boll films.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

yup terrible film, worst one he's done so far

Postal is by far his best movie. I give it 5/10. There are some good laughs and full frontal nudity

I watched it, and i'll admite to does in away stick true to the game start and such, but god darn it felt longer then watching the whole trilogy of lord of the rings.

It was not the advertising that failed, it was the movie itself... Go see it, I'll guarantee you'll cry from the pain and start praying for Statham's judgement to improve.
The horror... 'shudder'.

Alright, I guess maybe I just hadn't been paying attention to movie releases this year, which I hadn't.

In the Name of the King was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I hated Postal though.

good thing you didn't see it, saved yourself 10 bucks.

where's that petition that Uwe Boll said if it got over 1 million signs, he'd quit movie business for good?

Dungeon Siege was such a crappy game. Who would even think of making a movie about it?

I know the answer, obviously, but geez... Surely he could find a better IP than that.
