Bolded games aren't even hyped, let alone overhyped.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

The Conduit.

Little Big Planet, Halo 3, Twilight Princess

if you just takes this site as your hype-sample, then LBP might be the most hyped, but the most hyped/overhyped (videogame related) things outthere are the Wii and the DS ans that's why they sell like gangbuster, so plz don't act as if hype was such a negative thing

Killzone 2's graphics, Monster Hunter 3, and The Conduit.

Let's see... the Conduit, Gears of War 2, and the most overhyped game of the year is Little Big Planet. There is no problem with hyping a game but overhyping one is a problem. If LBP is the greatest game ever released it will not live up to the hype that it's getting. This is an instance where hype will hurt a game more than help. It can't win.

anything on the 360.

i used to think LBP was overrated, but because its one of the only good games coming to the PS3 it should be overrated. i hope its good. then ill buy it

anything on the PS3... and Fable 2 is not overhyped... if anything the hype is kind of kept in check... there is that hidden hope that this game will be the game that the last one was suppose to be.

(that was a joke btw)

Spore, definitely. The way people were talking before its release, it was to be the perfect game which would spark a new revolution in gaming. Then it comes out, and it turns out it's just a collection of shallow copies of other games wrapped around an interesting social networking experiment. (Just like I predicted a year ago... hmm...)

LBP definitely comes in second for the year, though. People are predicting sales in the multi-millions, reviews in the 96-97% range, and the opinion that it'll spark a new revolution in gaming. Hmm... sounds kind of like Spore to me. So, I'm saying it right now: LBP will be nothing more than a shallow platformer wrapped around a cool physics engine.

Spore is overhyped to some extent but some of the complaints seems unwarrented to me.  For one, some say the game has shallow gameplay elements but I don't see how the game is shallow in anyway.  But that might have something to do with the fact that I never played either RTS or God games(genres that Spore takes elements from).  I am enjoying Spore so far.

So far, only 3 sites have rated LBD, and it's averaging a 96%.  At least it's not GTAIV hype >.>
