| Garcian Smith said: Spore, definitely. The way people were talking before its release, it was to be the perfect game which would spark a new revolution in gaming. Then it comes out, and it turns out it's just a collection of shallow copies of other games wrapped around an interesting social networking experiment. (Just like I predicted a year ago... hmm...) LBP definitely comes in second for the year, though. People are predicting sales in the multi-millions, reviews in the 96-97% range, and the opinion that it'll spark a new revolution in gaming. Hmm... sounds kind of like Spore to me. So, I'm saying it right now: LBP will be nothing more than a shallow platformer wrapped around a cool physics engine. |
Spore is overhyped to some extent but some of the complaints seems unwarrented to me. For one, some say the game has shallow gameplay elements but I don't see how the game is shallow in anyway. But that might have something to do with the fact that I never played either RTS or God games(genres that Spore takes elements from). I am enjoying Spore so far.
