Conduit is overhyped.  Somehow the developer of 50 Cent Bulletproof and Dora the explorer for the Wii became an awesome developer the minute they announced The Conduit.  I know the same could be said for Media Molecule and LBP, but they didn't have any games before this, but HVS has had a string of horrible games pre-Conduit.  And the fact that it was compared with the 360 graphically where many said that it looked better than 360 games when the first screens came out prove how overhyped it was.

LBP is overhyped too.  Not in terms of sales, I don't believe that anyone who has a brain predicts anymore than 5 million for the game.  If people want to use Gearbox and Crazzy in their predictions, I should use JL for the whole lot of Wii owners... So when's that 60 mil gonna happen this year? 

I don't think any game is really overhyped at the moment, except for LBP. Maybe Killzone 2, but there is a difference between a game being "hyped" and a game being overhyped.

The PS3 fanboys would like to find a game equal to hype of LBP on other consoles, but there isn't. LBP is hyped more than Brawl was. Even if the game is the best game ever made, it will still be overhyped, because no game deserves this much attention.

Fable 2 isn't really overhyped at all, considering most people expect it to only be good, and not the best game ever made. I'm, personally, very excited about Gears 2, but I'm not seeing billboards and threads dedicated to it, and in fact I haven't seen much information about it lately. If you consider "overhyped" showing up in a most wanted list, then yes, if you consider it making a thread about a game at least once a day then only LBP fits that bill. Don't kid yourselves, and stop trying to find similar games on all consoles to make you seem fair or unbiased. Anyone who doesn't say LBP is probably a Sony fanboy, or doesn't understand the concept of hype, and that's real. :P

The MOST hyped game is LBP. Period.

Yes, Fable was the most overhyped game ever. It was still good, but it had LBP level hype and shall forever be known as a debacle.

Pong is overhyped. It will never catch on.

Here's the crunch though.  The difference between a hyped game and an overhyped game.  You never mention Halo 3 as an overhyped game, but obviously from a media standpoint it was one of the most hyped games.  I think that the idea of overhyped makes a judgement call on the quality of the game.  Saying that Halo 3 is hyped and Fable is overhyped is saying that Halo 3 deserves it's hype and Fable did not based on the relative quality of the games.  So saying that LBP is overhyped is a call on its quality and saying that it doesn't deserve the hype, but I reserve the right to make that call after playing the game.

If you do think that Halo 3 was overhyped then nvm, I suppose the argument is moot.

I'm not trying to say games don't deserve some hype, that's the point to get people excited for them. But Hype should be reserved for games that have SHOWN a lot of the concepts of the game and it's NEARING release. Conduit has no publisher, yet, there's no set release date, and we've seen a few videos about customization and maybe a few other things. The hype around this game is TOO much on my opinion, therefore it's overhyped.

Games like GTAIV and MGS4 those DESERVED the hype. Could it have been overhyped, maybe, but I didn't think it was. These games came from MAJOR franchises that are PROVEN system sellers. The hype is clearly warranted.
