Forums - Sales - what's with the increased ps3 sales in Japan?

normally, ps3 in japan are under 10k (like 8k usually) but this week they're almost 11k...any explination?

Afrika seems like an interesting title. That's probably what gave it a few thousand extra.

you're right, but in japan for the ps3 in a week it's a pretty big deal cuse that's like a 20% boost

The gigantic boost is from such high profile titles as Afrika and Battlefield Bad Company.

Initial estimates suggested that the PS3 would sell 67,000 units in Japan due to the sheer awesomeness of these two titles.

I guess they were wrong

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

No, seriously maybe a couple thousand people were bored and had some cash to spend.

I'm guessing Afrika gave a slight boost...

I dont get the appeal of Afrika... From what I know, it's Pokémon Snap without what made Pokémon Snap fun: the pokéemon.

PSN: chenguo4
Current playing: No More Heroes

depends on what tracker you are using. Media create had PS3 at 9.7k and wii at 35k while famitsu had PSe3 at 11k and wii at 24k. PS3 had afrika and bad company this week so there may have been a slightly boost (we're only talking like 1k here).

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Afrika and Battlefield: Bad Company. It also seems that demand for the Wii is dying. 2 months ago it was at 45k, now it's at 25k. I guess that's why new colors are coming.
