I'm going to buy Fable 2 at launch then buy Fallout 3 later when I can store a cheap copy for my computer.

Both buying day one for me. I have a felling Fable might get all my playing time.
You wanna have your opinion, then you have to respect different opinions as well.
fable 2 day 1 purchase. I might try and hold off fallout 3 and see if I can get it for the holidays.
I'm probably getting both. I preordered Fable 2, but I have no qualms about not actually paying the rest of that order off if the game gets 5/10s all around. That said, I think both of these games will get at least 75% on meta and gamerankings, in which case they will probably be day 1 purchases for me.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

I saw some videos of Fallout 3, especially from the start where the vault opens up. It recalled all the good memories from Fallout 1/2 for me and 4 videos after that just further reinforced the "Fallout" vibe I was getting from the game. -------------------------------------------------------------- For me it went from "meh" to "must buy" in the space of a few videos. So while I did get the Oblivion vibe from the game, the feel of the universe was definately Fallout and the humor and moral choices were definately there. I personally liked the Vault-Tec system because it seemed very playable and it captured whats best from the first two games without the negatives from the excessively long combat. It freed everything up, and I like that. ------------------------------------------------------------ From just my impressions it looks like a very fitting take on the Fallout universe and I would say that it deserves to wear the legendary name.------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: This site loves to eat paragraphs, especially mine! :'-( |
I just wish you can go through the whole game using your skills and intelligence instead of being forced into the gung ho gun attitude. Don't get me wrong, I will shoot many a mutant but some of the best Fallout memories come from the fact I didn't have to lift a finger to get past some scenarios.
Can love bloom on the battlefield? Proud supporter of this gen!!!

Theres nothing that says that you can't do just that, well at least I haven't seen anything. They've retained so much of the originals so I would be more confident than not that they would include the diplomacy aspect.
Tease.
Yeah, it is true, that Fallout 2 gave you the chance to complete almost the whole game, without a single gunshot. Don't get me wrong, but I couldn't play that way in 2008. I just want ...some action. Still, if the choice exists, it will be a marvelous feature of the game.
Day 1 purchase for me BOTH of them. The truth is that either way, since Mass Effect I miss a true WRPG on my 360. Too Human is a welcomed substitute, but hack'n' slash, no matter how addictive and enjoyable it gets, doesn't compare to a TRUE, open world, million options WRPG. And Fable and Fallout, almost at the same period of the year is almost catastrophic...

I have been waiting for sooo long to get some interesting WRPGs. Mass Effect was the last one I played. But this situation here makes me wanna load my Wallet up with $120 worth of coins and throw it at my Xbox 360, but then I would kiss it better because I love my Xbox for bringing me these games. Its definately a Love/Hate/Love relationship, and its only hate because its bringing me too much love.
