Forums - Sony - New PSPhone Surfaced?

Sony Ericsson is in deep trouble, losing marketshare and losing money, Sony has also expressed concerns about using their IPs (Cybershot, Walkman) on something that's 50% owned by Ericsson. They need to do something because Stringer already said that they need to.

I wonder why dont' they add Skype to the PSP or has that already been done? Also... how hard is it to add communication components or attachments for the PSP to make a cell? :x

Yes, there have been suggestions of ending the Sony Ericsson partnership. That division has been performing badly lately. The iPhone is smoking them in terms of growth.

It's a fine line to walk, because they risk making the telecom companies upset. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.

I like this one better

here in the uk and europe, sony ericsson are doing fine, their walkman and cybershot branded phones sell quite decently (better than the iphone). i don't know how it is in america, but here is a different story.

Business is not about selling product, it's about making money. Something that Sony Ericsson has been getting worse at.

In addition, they had negative growth in the last year and laid off a large part of their workforce.

Sony Ericsson has the hottest cellphones out there, i dunno why is it doing so bad? And they aren't like Motorola, their products look AND act great :D

well my sony ericsson k800i is very good and it has good games but i dunno if there is a market for a fone with better games. Maybe teens?! Could have connectivity somehow with the ps3 or psp i gess...
