Forums - Nintendo - Animal Crossing DS to have legs for 4 more years?

If it allows connectivity with the upcoming Animal Crossing Wii?

Pokemon games are known to keep selling and selling even the Gameboy Advance versions due the transferable to the newer pokemon games. So, each time a new title is release, it gives the older ones a spike in sales.

If Nintendo can pull it off, I think Animal Crossing DS will continue to be on the top 50 forever.

What do you think?

I'm pretty sure this will happen.

Wow, finally a thread that sinks faster than mine! Thanks Galaki, I needed that. :P

Looking at that graph, I'd say yes.

Mario Kart DS sold spot on with it 110 weeks. Then MKWii was approaching, and MK went away, selling almost 2M more over the next 30 weeks.

Having said that, AC seems to be stopping up, it barely fell below 30K in the previous years, whereas it will probably dip below 20K once this year.

I'm thinking AC:WW will go back to 35-45K levels again for 2009, and it slowly comming back up almost equalling MKDS.

All in all, I expect it to get an ~ 1.5M boost.

In gaming world, forever is relative to a few years :)

I hope so. Animal Crossing WW is addicting. I haven't played it in a long time but I fear if I turn it back on, all the annoying people (baabra and that stupid horse Elmer....UGH!) will still be there but all the cool people will have left.

So I'm not the only person who is scared of my good people leaving...

Former something....

I think so too....

though I got the DS AC already....

Animal Crossing deserves its sales. It could do better if Nintendo continued to do pubs tv commercials..
I hope AC Wii will be greater than the DS one.

If the game lasts 4more years, then it will last forever, as the world ends in 2012 =p
