Unless they can convince the 10+ million wow subscribers to buy PS3's, then no, PS3 will not be the home of MMO gamers.

I just thought I would second this.

I third this....surprised it took this long for someone to state it lol.

I think what he was shooting for is the inevitable intergration of MMOs and Consoles. It may not out do PC MMOs but it would be a first if they can get MMOs running that stay up and alive on a console. In time who knows, consoles might take that from PC players too.

APB (All Points Bulliten) and Huxley on 360 alone show that the ps3 is NOT the home of MMO's

To be perfectly honest with you, I've never heard of either of those games.

Not that it matters, of course, as WoW alone shows that neither console is the home of MMO's.

Nothing can compete with PC MMO's, of that there is no question............

But APB not been on the 360 list is scandalous

Unless they mean a mmorpg where there's no meaningful conversation or chatting then its not happening.

MMORPGs work on PC and little else.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
Champions Online
Huxley
APB
Star Trek Online
The Secret World
Kingdoms Under Fire

You were saying PS3 is going to beat the 360 in MMO's? WOW!Even though the PS3's MMO's look rather good, you really underestimate the even more notable force of Microsofts understanding of MMO RPG's and companies.

UGH!! Nothing like clicking a link and seeing something that made me puke a little in my mouth. SOE all nice and big!! They are just awful and ruin MMO's. Run for the hills and don't look back it will save you a lot of wasted hours and frustration from their patches.

Seriously Megaman2 you need to put a warning on a thread like this before you put those three vulgar letters together in a post. You all can have their mess that they create and change for the worse after you invested so much time in a character.

Never again!

This generation Microsoft made FPS console games popular......... Sony followed

Microsoft are gonna go big in the world of MMO and Huxley and APB have been in production for a long time, So what do sony do when they see that microsoft are gonna invade the console market with MMO's, yup, you got it........ they follow

Microsoft have been one of the pioneers of online gaming for many years

Sony are only just taking thier first baby steps in the world of online

One outcome...... 360 MMO's will win

Why do you always flood Sony threads with so much hate? Why

I dunno , why is every single 360 forum post littered with sony fanboys?

I'm in no way a fanboy, but a Pokemon MMO on the Wii would be astronomically more popular than any of these...

OT: DC Universe Online and Champions online looks cool. I can't wait to see how they compare. I'll be getting Champions.

Pokemon MMO on the Wii can't compete as well. The Pokemon games haven't been nearly as popular as their handheld counterparts from what I've heard (I'm too lazy to check the data but i'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Has there ever been a real pokemon released on a console? All I can think of is stadium games (ick) and Snap (which kicked arse but it was photography, never going to be a blockbuster). If they released an RPG or an MMORPG I think it would be significantly more popular.

PCs will eternally be the home of the MMO genre. All the big names on that list are hitting the PC as well, and having it on the PC guarantees the ability to tweak a little extra out of the system. Much like RTS games, the MMO genre was meant to be played with a keyboard and mouse.

This, right here.

MMO's may exist for consoles, but now console will ever be considered the place to play them.

First off, if you think that any console is ever going to be the home for MMO gamers, you are delusional. The PC will always dominate the MMO market, period. System customization, ease of UI modding, the pervasiveness of personal computers, and about 1000 other things ensure that no console will ever have even a moderate portion of the MMO market.

Secondly, Sony Online Entertainment is a black hole devoid of quality which sucks everything that comes near it into the abyss. Trust me, even if what some people have joked about actually happened and Blizzard ported WOW to PS3, Sony would find a way to release a patch that alienated 8 million of the players within 3 months. It'd probably be you and Arthas on a spaceship going to save the galaxy. SOE could release a free MMO where you could trade your in game gold for real life money and find a way to make people hate it.

And yes, I am aware that SOE will not be directly developing all of these games, but that doesn't matter. They are like the video game version of leprosy, get too close and you'll fall apart.
