This is just like when MS said the first console to 10 million wins, even though the Wii was catching up when MS finally passed 10 million...

For some reason, they view arbitrary numbers as reasons that their console will win.

 

 isn't that oppositional? Sony loses money with every console sold so far.

but sony also stated that they make more money of the games now than losses from ps3, losses from ps3 are only temporary once they have reduced costs, they will snip price down.

MS is grasping at straws on this one. I could see his point if it were the 60gig model going under 200, but this isn't the case. The fact is MS had a better linup of games last year and fell short This year it is still a solid lineup, but not as good as last year and Sony's lineup this year is better than the one they had last year. If MS would not make bold statements like this, then they wouldn't have to put out NPD spin to excuse dissapointment almost every month.

We will all need to wait until January 09. When the total numbers are tallied and MS's financial reports are released, one of two things will happen.

(1) Sony fans will be eating crow, and will frequent this site, less and less.

(2) MS fans will be eating crow, and will frequent this site, less and less.

The ps3 already had a price cut. Ps3 80gb is 399, was 499 in march, 5 months ago. When 160 gb arrives, the stores will want to get rid of the 40 gb with no BC. new price drop. It´s insane to go to amazon and see that the 40gb is more expensive than the 80gb, even used. So unless people are economical crazy, the 40gb will go down.

160GB is only temporary;

and stores themselves are already offering extras to get rid of the 40GB stock, nothing that sony has to do about that.
