Forums - Sales - Will you buy a Xbox 360 or PS3 as holiday Gift???

The Bad:

  • More expensive than other game consoles
  • Not as many games available on PS3 as other console

In other words: are you a Sony or a Microsoft fan?

I own a 360 and i aint gonna buy a Ps3. Not yet...

er.. i think i am more on the PC online gamer.

I don't care about blu-ray. Not paying any extra for the same movie I can watch on dvd. To me the difference in quality just isn't signifigant enough to warrent paying $10 more per movie.

If I was to get either, most likely as a gift for my son, it'd likely be 360 due to the lower cost and superior line-up of games.

I have a PS3 and Wii, I have no need for a 360.

The Sony PS3 has been outselling Microsoft's older Xbox 360 in many parts of the world, though it is still far behind the much cheaper Nintendo Wii in sales. Coming form a guy who has the Wii, the PS3, and the Xbox 360 I can tell you if I could only keep one console, the PS3 would be it.

Sure, the PS3 motion control system isn't as slick as the Wii's and the Xbox 360 has lots more games. However, the Ps3 can do something that none of the other game consoles can do -- play Blu0ray movies. The Ps3 is worth the price of admission for its Blu-ray playback alone. Throw in the fantastic graphics and great gaming capability and the PS3 is a winner. If a Blu-ray player is on the wish list for someone you love this holiday season, go for the PS3 instead of a dedicated Blu-ray player.

For Whom:

The Sony PS3 is for gamers both hardcore and casual as well as HD movie fans.

The Good:

  • Serious gaming prowess
  • One of the best Blu-ray players around

The Bad:

  • More expensive than other game consoles
  • Not as many games available on PS3 as other console

I would have to disagree with you on the graphics.

My neighbour has the ps3 so I have seen many games on it.

He plays similar games to myself so it is easy to make comparisons.

I just prefer the 360 graphics wise when comparing similar games.

Thats not to say either one is superior I just hav'nt seen anything yet that says wow this is much better on the ps3.

The Wii exists, too.

That said, none of them cuz I'm on a student budget XD

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I am surprised that this argument is still being thrown around. Its not true
