Michael Jackson Hands down!

His carreer spans over a much longer time. He is one of few artists that had a major style change throughout it. He went from pre-teen sensation to an Adult Pop-star, that's pretty much unmatched.

And Dancing is way better! Come on Elvis stole his moves from Forrest Gump!

Michael Jackson. Never was a big Elvis fan.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Importance in musical history? Elvis.
Who is more of a badass? Tie.
Who has a better singing voice? Michael.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I remember watching a segment on the Space channel covering Neil Gaimen and his book "American Gods". In that short, he talked about another book in which Elvis was a character, and why he didn't include Elvis in American Gods. To paraphrase, he roughly said : It was always weird to me, because I loved the Beatles, and I recognized that the Beatles considered Elvis to be a great influence, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was so great about him"

And that's where I stand. While I don't particularly enjoy either of them. I can still dance to some of MJ's songs.
I recognize the gigantic influence of Elvis, but I find his actual music to be entirely uninteresting.

So MJ it is.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

great question.

For my personal taste MJ wins above anyone else period.

AS a purely historical basis I would say ....

Elvis wins as for most influence to Music and Culture in general, but, MJ wins for pure musical ability, both vocal and entertainment factors.

I mean Elvis made Rock 'the' music to love, whereas MJ has been a definer of a lot of trends and dancing, but he did not define an entire genre.

 Baaadasss???? Tiiiiee??!?!?!

If either of them would have been a badass it would be Elvis.  What inclination is there that MJ was any kind of a badass.  his 10 year-old self was more badass than his adult persona.

I dunno.

None of the above?

Seriously, for strictly music I think there are many people with way more talent and creativity than these guys. I think of MJ and Elvis more as performers than musicians.

Not a fan of either. but Ill say Elvis.
