I remember watching a segment on the Space channel covering Neil Gaimen and his book "American Gods". In that short, he talked about another book in which Elvis was a character, and why he didn't include Elvis in American Gods. To paraphrase, he roughly said : It was always weird to me, because I loved the Beatles, and I recognized that the Beatles considered Elvis to be a great influence, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was so great about him"
And that's where I stand. While I don't particularly enjoy either of them. I can still dance to some of MJ's songs.
I recognize the gigantic influence of Elvis, but I find his actual music to be entirely uninteresting.
So MJ it is.
