“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Ok I tried pressing the sync button on the console and the remote at the same time.

I tried pressing the sync button on the remote first and then the one on the console.

I tried pressing the sync button on the console first then the remote button.

I can't get it to work. :\

^^ he needs to press both buttons, if he only presses one, nothing will happen.

Ok, I'll go step by step instructions.
1) Buy 2 AA Batteries (rechargeable to save $$)
2) Put 2 Charged batteries in the Wii Remote
3) Turn on Wii
4) Press the red button on the Wii
5) Press the red button on the Wii Remote within 10 seconds.
6) Wait for blue lights to stop flashing.
7) You have now successfully connected the Wii Remote to the Wii Console

EDIT: steps 1 & 2 are key

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I've never had a problem before....so I probably can't help you.

Try unplugging the console...take out the batteries to the wiimote(s)...and start fresh.

3 is important too.

It's happened to me on three occasions where the Remotes simply won't sync (the first of which occured the first day I owned it). Anyways if the lights on the wii remote flash but never get to that state where one LED steadily glows indictaing success try this (and this has worked everytime). Turn off Wii and UNPLUG it. Replug it, tun it back on and try again.
