Forums - Sales - handheld gaming recommendation

so it kind of pains me to do this but can anyone give me some recommendations for good handheld games?

I am going to Korea for a business trip and need to occupy my time for 2 flights ~13 hours long.  I've spent some time trying to find some good games to buy but I can't seem to find anything that excites me.  I'm a nintendo fanboy so that should tell you something about the kinds of games i like.  otherwise (http://www.vgchartz.com/profiles/mygames.php?id=10332) is a complete list of all the current gen games i own and some of the previous gen games i've bought.

I have a DS right now.  I'm open to buying a psp but i fear i'm not really the target market as R&C/patapon are the only games i've seen that appeal to me.

so can anyone point me in the direction of good games i may have overlooked?   thanks in advance.

btw - ./pissed spore ds comes out 2 days after i leave. :(

how are the controls for metroid prime hunters?  i remember playing it at the store a year or two before i bought my ds and thinking it hurt my hands.  the L/R bumpers are not well positioned for me.

Elite beat agents - A rhythm game with a high lasting appeal

Animal Crossing wild world - fun game where you live in a second life in a town full of animals.

By the by... this should be in the gaming discussion

For DS, you need Kirby Canvas Curse and at least one Advance Wars game. And I mean, NEED. They're both effing awesome.

You also seem to like platformers, so I'd check out some of the more overlooked ones on the system: Kirby Squeak Squad, Super Princess Peach, and the first Sonic Rush, for example. If you liked Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, it might not hurt to pick up Dawn of Sorrow, either.

Finally, if you liked Hotel Dusk, grab Trace Memory. It's a short, flawed game in comparison, but it should be really cheap now.

As for GBA games: Try Drill Dozer, Rayman Advance, Zelda: The Minish Cap, the first Mario v. Donkey Kong, Lady Sia, and the three Sonic Advance games. If you're into strategy games, you may also like Fire Emblem and Tactics Ogre: the Knight of Lodis, though expect to pay out the wazoo for either. Finally, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is a fun, shortish Paper Mario-style RPG with some of the best humor writing I've ever seen in a game.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

i actually didn't like hotel dusk all that much.  well i did for a while but i never felt compelled to finish it.

Kirby Canvas Curse sounds pretty good.  i hadn't heard of that one before.

Lunar Knights - +10hr hack n slash RPG. Lots of fun, and well made. I beat it, but after that it unlocks this tower that I haven't completed, but that was because it feels like you are just grinding all the time. You'll get ~10 just from the first play though.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin - SRPG. You'll easily drop +30 hours into this on all the different maps that come with it. You could get Dual Strike instead, but I prefer this one so far. (haven't finished Dual Strike)

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
