Forums - Microsoft - 360 keeps breaking games!

Twice now, I've had a game run absolutely perfect, and next thing I know, it is unreadable.

I'll take it out of the 360, and look at it, and there is a thin crack running from the inside of the disc out.

dead Rising, and just this morning Eternal Sonata have fallen victim to this.

Argh.

Will it help if I turn the 360 on it's side?

We'll miss you George.

I don't know if it will help but it may be time to sell your 360 on craiglist or call microsoft to replace your unit(if under warranty) . With price cuts coming you can let go of yours for cheap and pick up new pro for 199.

No one should try to find solutions for a problem that shouldn't be there.

Edit: I keep mine standing up and it has never scratched a disk in almost 2 years time(3 different xboxes). I play it atleast 2 hours a day.  So that may help...

can't u replace ur console?
i'm sorry for ur games :(

Sometimes i wonder if people doing this is the real reason MS is in #2 position and not number 3. Sure they've sold almost 20 million of them, but 6 million of those are re-sales to people that already had one that broke down.

Very narow minded thinking of you...

First of all...no one should sell a broken xbox and claim it works. His xbox works fine and scratches disks sometimes. If he sells it for 100 bucks, just the console with wires and controller and states that happens sometimes...all is fair.

Second of all, look at videogame sales on craigslist and ebay. Wii leads the lsitings but a huge margin...followed by xbox and then ps3 in north america. The used market is proportional to console sales overall...

Third of all...despite piracy, Xbox is outselling ps3 game sales by an equal amount it has outsold it in consoles. therefore there are more console users out there.

Finally...this is the same as someone saying, people only buy ps3s to play blurays.

Old meme, already debunked several times. Search around the forum.

If that's the case, then the 360 must have an INSANE attach rate.

Wii's don't break down the way XBOX 360's do.  So selling them does not mean that someone bought two wii's, sold 0, and has 1 working wii.

But the Xbox360 breaaks, can't use it, either trash it or try to pass the problem on to someone else and get another. So buy two, get one that works.  Perhaps if the failure rate wasn't as high as 33% I would not mention it... but come on, 1 in 3 xbox 360's has failed!

I don't see how that's anything like saying people only buy ps3s to play blu rays. (Although, I am sure some do).

1) Do intentional RROD.
2) Sell it like me, and wait until price cut.

360 is cutting the price now.
If you don't mind , you can get another new 360. if not just send it for repair.
