I don't know if it will help but it may be time to sell your 360 on craiglist or call microsoft to replace your unit(if under warranty) . With price cuts coming you can let go of yours for cheap and pick up new pro for 199.
No one should try to find solutions for a problem that shouldn't be there.
Edit: I keep mine standing up and it has never scratched a disk in almost 2 years time. I play it atleast 2 hours a day.

Sometimes i wonder if people doing this is the real reason MS is in #2 position and not number 3. Sure they've sold almost 20 million of them, but 6 million of those are re-sales to people that already had one that broke down. |
Very narow minded thinking of you...
First of all...no one should sell a broken xbox and claim it works. His xbox works fine and scratches disks sometimes. If he sells it for 100 bucks, just the console with wires and controller and states that happens sometimes...all is fair.
Second of all, look at videogame sales on craigslist and ebay. Wii leads the lsitings but a huge margin...followed by xbox and then ps3 in north america. The used market is proportional to console sales overall...
Third of all...despite piracy, Xbox is outselling ps3 game sales by an equal amount it has outsold it in consoles. therefore there are more console users out there.
Finally...this is the same as someone saying, people only buy ps3s to play blurays.
