Is this what passes as 'amazing' these days? Standards have certainly fallen recently.

I never even heard of this game on PS2. Anyone ever played it? Is this game merely a port or do these screenshots show new material for the Wii version?

At any rate nice to see this title is still in development.

I'm not judging the graphics, so that you know. The concept of giant monsters and the adventure look feels amazing, I should have specified. Yeah the game doesn't look so hot if we go by graphics.

But sure haters will always come and criticize a Wii game, that's the way life is.

Reports are conflicting on this. There are definitely significant changes involved, up to the point where characters have supposedly been completely redesigned. At the same time, a lot of people are saying that it's just a port, or perhaps a remake, of the PS2 version.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

It's not exactly a port, more like a remake.  They're changing and improving pretty much everything.  The game looks outstanding (for a Wii title) in motion.  These pictures aren't bad, but to see it in motion is the way to go.

Kinda like with The Conduit.

isnt this like a remake or port of the PS2 version? If not, definitely interested as that game was awesome. If so, meh.

Edit: just read other posts in this thread, yea that sucks that it's not a new game.

I really enjoyed Rygar on the NES, I hope it will keep the same spirit

Wow. That looks good!

The graphics aren't amazing but the game releases in 2009 IIRC so there's plenty of time improve.

Edit: This is a remake, guys.

It is a remake, but not a "straight" remake.  They're chaning enemies, enemy placement, redesigning parts of levels, all sorts of stuff.  In the end, it'll actually feel pretty much like a new game.
