Keep in mind that the writer of this PAX impressions topic is a pretty big PS3 fan. Imagine Starcraft writing his impressions...they would be exactly the opposite of this as he is looking forward to more 360 games.

 

I own all the consoles and am putting zero bias here. Sony had a great showing, and most of these games have been in the cooker for years. Don't relegate to labeling me anything. Thanks.

 

I liked your preview and hence I didn't compare you to Rock_on or call you a fanboy. But lets be realistic here, looking at your post history and the games you own, I've never seen you post anything positive about the 360.

Also, I think comparing you to Starcraft in being his PS3 double is a compliment as he argues his 360 bias very well.

Then again, I wasn't at the pax show and maybe microsoft phoned in their booth.

PS. Very few people want Gears 2 to be drastically different from Gears 1 btw. More of the same on steroids is what we're hoping for...

 

 

I am sure GeOW fans wanted huge improvement in graphics and scale and set the bar high again just like first game did. But even after two years of development the diffrence doesn't seem much bigger. And on top of that there are many games already released which look better then GeOW 2.

A ps3 fan telling everyone what 360 owners want form Gears of War 2. Thats fresh.

You have to keep in mind the following:

1. Gears 2 looks better than gears 1 from footage we've all seen.

2. Epic and Microsoft pushed Gears 1 and Gears 2 in less time than it took sony to release Killzone 2, despite the fact the game was announced a whole year before.

3. I don't see anything on PS3 this holliday season that looks better visually than Gears 2. I'm loking forward to those Resistance 2 VS Gears 2 comparisons on sites.

 

R2 will be on par with GeOW 2 in terms of graphics and much much bigger in terms of scale. KZ2 is on another level and even E3 07 trailer of the game looks much better then anything released or coming this fall.

What kind of AI issues did you notice? I've really been looking forward to Far Cry 2.

The A.I. wasn't intelligent.  The enemies were jumping out of cover, they weren't attacking you in waves, and the fights themselves felt a bit broken.  That said, I am not the biggest shooter fan, and I had just got done playing Project Origin, which is known for its A.I.

Ah. Well, I have to say, you've gotten me interested in Project Origin. I guess I need to play F.E.A.R. first, though.

If he wanted to have a cordial talk without swearing or acronyms, he will at least now have discovered you are not capable of such conversation, whether it's with the excuse "it si teh internetz!!11" or not.
