Forums - Sales - European Sales Discussion

This week's sales figures are in, and they are nearly identical to the last 5 weeks (no surprise, I guess). Wii stayed at approximately 60k, PS3 at 24k, and 360 at 20k. Any comments?

It was a slow week for handhelds, the Wii outsold the psp quite clearly and could almost beat the ds in the UK and France. On the other hand, PS3 was able to outsell Wii in the Other Regions.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

^^^ hes correct, for the past few weeks ps3 has been outselling the 360 more and more, before it was 2,000 then 3,000 now its held steady by 4,000 and if the price is cut in europe imagane wat will happen then.

Microsoft would cut the price in Europe too?

On a serious note, the PS3 has had some 'good' news over the past few days, kind of kills my worries a little bit.

The region got a pretty large adjustment stretching all the way back to last year, with PSP and DS down a bunch and 360 down a bit. I'm kinda curious as to how ioi compiles/verifies the European data -- in America he can check against NDP and Japan against Media Create, but to my knowledge no such sales tracker exists for Europe.

I actually expect that there are a lot more people who are holding off for an XBox 360 price cut than people understand ...

After (about) 12 months on the market, unless there is so many games being released that people 'have to' own the system, sales begin to decline as consumers begin anticipating a price reduction. Everyone 'knows' that the XBox 360 will have a $100 price drop in the reasonably near future which means that people are waiting for it to happen; if MS doesn't drop the price of their console they will be in trouble though ...

Ioi probably just adjusted UK numbers. ELSPA released their figures last week and showed the handhelds and XBox 360 being quite a lot higher on VGChartz compared to those numbers. Here is a link to the thread btw:

On a different note, I noticed a few stores in Holland having big stacks of Wiis is stock and they seemed to be there since the last few days of June 2007. It's the first time I see them in store btw, so it is pretty weird to immediately see a pile of them. I wonder if Nintendo maybe pushed out some extra units right before the end of their fiscal quarter?

Did anyone else in Europe noticed similair big Wii stocks at the end of June/ beginning of July?

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

Big drop in hand held sales, especially the DS. Wonder why...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
