How is having to produce more SKUs cost cutting?  They could just say, ok 60gb model is going out. After it's sold out, 80gb one is the only one available. Having consoles with such small differences is pointless. They even need to produce different boxes for them. More things to make = more cost to sony. I know about the internal unadvertised differences about the back compatibility. But since they already make a 60gb version in such a way for europe why not just extend it to america. If an 80gb hdd is cheaper then make them all with that.

 Obviously the PS3 fans are hungry for any positive news.

 

As long as the Wii remains unstocked and MS and Nintendo fail to release Metroid Prime and Halo 3 then I predict good things for the Sony faithful that are tracking Amazon's top seller list.  :p

The 80gb was at 500 something yesterday. Pretty good jump.

thats getting its ass kicked? oh R6 and NCAA are just returning to the list they arent new to the top 100.

 Also you really think the 80GB will sell as much as the 60GB does for a while? Some people might not want Motorstorm.
