How is having to produce more SKUs cost cutting? They could just say, ok 60gb model is going out. After it's sold out, 80gb one is the only one available. Having consoles with such small differences is pointless. They even need to produce different boxes for them. More things to make = more cost to sony. I know about the internal unadvertised differences about the back compatibility. But since they already make a 60gb version in such a way for europe why not just extend it to america. If an 80gb hdd is cheaper then make them all with that.
