Sorry but how can you say that? That game wont be released for Ages, like all the multiplats it would be pretty much this same.

Not necessarily because of versus. more likely because it's the lead platform as in the case of GTAIV. The article also conviniently forgets that GTA is not new to the xbox brand and it sells best by a large margin in the US where the 360 has a 2 to 1 lead over the ps3.
Ps3 also won the DMC4 battle slowly but surely

Even now it is questionable whether a genre fan should pick up a PS3. While there is ample incentive for them to pick up a 360. This goes beyond install bases. This goes to the core of the demographics. Were we talking about a fantastic first person shooter with a wonderful online component being for both platforms. There would be no debate the 360 would sell more, because the 360 install base adores that genre. I am not entirely sure what it is that sets the PS3 user base off, but it is a totally different beast. I see no reason for the supposition that the PS3 will sell more thirteen beyond stupid fanboy lust. There needs to be some actual proof that this console can move this genre. The average owner isn't going to just buy this title, because they are expected to. |
Your argument is flawed.
First of all, how's a typical 360 owner a more aggressive purchaser? Even Madden 09 has a better attach rate , thats right, on ps3
Second, Japan may be irrelevant now, but did you notice what happened when tales of vesperia released for 360? Now think FFXIII 'nuff said.
Thirdly, the only true JRPG on ps3 as of today is Enchanted Arms. I'm as die hard of a JRPG fan as it gets so I have the game even though it's a piece of crap. You compare high profile games like LO, BD, ToV, ES to games like Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3 which are in an ever more niche genre: SRPGs. BC is a very good reason why a genre fan can also pick up a ps3 except he/she has played all past gen games and wish to play them no more.
PS3 will sell more copies of FF13 because of one reason: Japan. Your total failure to see this could also be described as fanboy lust as well (thinking the 360 version will sell more while conveniently ignoring all evidence suggesting the contrary)
