The gap will be about 3.5 million on january 1st, 2009. But then, it will take about 8-10 months for the PS3 to close the gap with another million.

I think the gap could either stay the same or decrease to a little over 4 million after the new year.

Replace 2009 with 2010 and you may be on to something.

But i don't think he's taking into account the huge amounts of hardware that will be sold in q4 because of Sony's big titles and increasing Blu-Ray demand.

Although it could be argued that neither will help the PS3 greatly.

.. If M$ cuts prices as scheduled i think they have a decent lead over SONY for at least another year. Highly doubtful SONY is gonna oust M$ in NA though..2011 maybe
