Forums - General - Rumor that Johnny Depp will play Riddler not confirmed

http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00017996.html

I hope he just hasn't commited to it and is bieng respectfully quiet.

I want him to play the Riddler so bad, I don't think anyone else can follow up the Dark Knight.

He would definitely make a pretty good Riddler...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

According to this Michael Caine seems to think it's a possibility.

I noticed however, that this seemed to just be passing conversation. It doesn't seem like Caine was actually saying they said he's signed on.

I'm still holding out hope!

would be awesome if he did.

What ever Depp plays becomes a hit thats how good of an actor this guy is and he isn´t even any one of my favorites but with the skill he has I must concede to the fact he can play almost any roll and do it better then most other actors

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

Is marijuana the best medicine?

Fuck the Riddler we've seen him already and he'd basically be Joker without the fear. Instead of jokes it would be all riddles. I want to see Mask of the Phantasm in the next film. He was the Batman impersonator from the animated series and He had a vandetta against the Joker who is still alive in the series.

Imagine this scenario Batman after taking blame for the murders commited by Two face and llauded by the public, seemingly turns to violently killing criminals and set his sights on vengeace against the joker who is well protected in Arkam so a battle ensues between Batman and the Phantasm who turns out to be his latest love interest. That has the potential to be just as dark and cunning as the Dark Knight.

So again I repeat fuck the Riddler!

I have yet to see the dark knight....but every fiber of my being is telling me that Johnny Depp would be epic in the next movie

Dude! You've gotta see it!! It is an amazing movie. It's one of te few movies that actually deserve it's popularity.

It is a great movie, not the greatest movie ever as some proclaim, but a damn fine movie worthy of a spot in the top 30 maybe even top 10 of IMDB. I wish Christian Bale had more of a chance to act, but Ledger and Eckhart totally make up for it.

Maggie Gyllenhal's character brought the movie down a bit unfortunately.
