I have also noticed that here in the UK the 80GB is selling out, even though the only difference is the extra 40GB of hard-drive space. Then again the games are coming for the system now so there has not been a better time to take the plunge and buy one. Also it is only £299

Sold out in the UK?

Well it isnt sold out at Game, PCWorld, Dixons, DABS, Tesco, Currys, Comet...etc etc.   They dont stock game consoles at Laura Ashley... you do know that right?

Youve been to all of those stores? And whats DABS???

Been to the stores???  its called the internet!! - all showing "in stock"    Dabs.com  one of the biggest online electronic retailers  (and a great place to get an internal 320gig hard drive for your ps3 for less than £50)

curry's, dixons and pc world all use the same warehouse for their online stores, so if one say's 'in stock', then the rest will.

game's online store doesn't have any indication of what stock is actually in store. once again warehouse only stock.

Comet " " " " " "

Tesco direct " " " " " "

what i'm basically trying to say is that, it may be in stock online, but that is in no way indicative of what's in store.

Around the Network

I think he's referring to the fact that most gamers still buy their console and games in the store, and that even though they might have plenty of PS3's in their warehouses, it'll be considered "sold out" if you can't even pick one up in the shop itself.

If I go out all over my town and can't find a wii, it's sold out. I couldn't care less that a shop has some more in their warehouse, because that doesn't mean I can get one at that time.

Then I have no clue what he meant either :D

Fact is though that the 80 GB version is selling quite well, even if they don't sell out.
