Mario and Dr Kawashima enjoy strong sales

Nintendo has the top three best-selling games in Germany, with Mario Party 8 at the top of the charts for the second week running.

DS titles More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima and the original Dr Kawashima's Brain Training are at number two and three, respectively.

High Street branding helps the latest EA expansion, as The Sims H&M: Fashion Accessories sits at number four, with Sony's SingStar Pophits at number five.

Codemasters' Xbox 360 title Overlord is at number six, with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition at number seven and World of Warcraft at number eight.

Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade is at number nine and Animal Crossing: Wild World completes the charts at number ten.

Both bizarre and impressive that the original Brain Training is at #3. I just picked up the new one, and can't any real reason for anyone to buy the old one instead (unless its price, which is very valid ;).

Mario Strikers / Football does not seem to do well in Germany, which is strange... I always thought Germans are soccer / football nuts.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Mario Strikers has done well in Germany, but it's out now for quite a while. My gaming magazine has it at number one of all Wii games for the last month. But I don't know where their charts come from.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

If you believe the VG Charts European sales Germany is about the most DS dominated country there is outside maybe Japan. Weekly the DS outsells the next best selling system, the Wii, by a margin of about 3 to 1. Of course Wii supply has to be factored in, but none the less that's pretty fricken impressive. If anything I would of thought more than just 3 DS games would be in the top 10 selling.

seems good, nice to see those charts, keep them coming (even if we doesn't have the numbers).

Intressting to see that RE4 goes well in Germany to, it is the best selling game in UK. So it seems that Wii is buying "hardcore" games.

I thought PS3 was the console that sold well in Germany...I wasn't aware the DS sold so well there.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

As someone al ready has pointed out DS is dominating, which might explain Settlers DS. (I mean settlers is only selling in Germany).

wow, even I didn´t know Nintendo was doing so well here, on the other hand I was in a big game shop last week and when a Wii with Mario Party 8 was hocked up a swarm of people came out of nowhere and watched it as if it was the first TV they had ever seen, so much for the hype dying, maybe RE4 is selling so well because everyone assumes it´s 4 resident evil minigames, everything else would make no sence on the Wii

@robjob: its funny how some stereotypes do work out, we germans are known to be industrious and economy simulators do seem to do very well in germany
