The Wii actually has more RPGs I want...

@stella

WTF?

358/2 Days, BBS, Coded not out. Versus still being worked on heavily.

Proof enough?

1) When their was an article that said Versus is made by the KH team people just reacted like you. 'KH III in development LOL, Lol, they have no time for that'. Then 358 and BBS etc got announced and everyone got pwned. They have time to work on a other game(s).

2) With believing it will be on the Wii is nothing wrong. If you are right that the game is not in development yet, you believe that we are going to see it this generation? Games like KHIII will take not 1 or 2 years to make but possible 4-5 years. So if you are right and they start with it after Versus and all the rest is gold then they will start it in 2010. Great so we see it in 2014-2015? And that will still be this generation?

Sorry, I just had to comment on this. Games like KH3 take 4-5 years? Then explain to me why KH2 was released roughly 2½ years after KH1. Naturally, those 2½ years can not have been development time. Even assuming that they began development of KH2 full-out right after the first one (which is highly unlikely considering KH: Final Mix and Chain of Memories), the game will be completed for a while before it is released. I believe KH2 had a development time of, absolutely maximum, 1½ years. Proper development, not just throwing together some teaser for a show or something. So what makes you believe KH3 will have so much longer development time?

KH: 9/16/2002

KHII: 3/28/2006

3 and a half years. So it's pretty sure that a new Kingdom Hearts which would use a new engine would need ~4 years in development.

How dare you to comment on my post!!! (PS: You should not say sorry you are free to quote me and comment on it ).

1- I am pretty sure you know that devs needed more time to make N64 games than making NES games with this I want to say they propbably (and in fact I am pretty sure about it) that they also need more time making a Wii/PS3 game and push the system than making a PS2 game.

2- When they made KH2 they probably stole a lot from KH1 like the engine( I assume it) and probably just used the same characters from KH1 and gave them an upgrade (Not every character of course); This makes it for them a lot easier to create Kh2 and cost them less time.

Chain of Memories was made by the same team? And did they put a lot into KH final mix? Who knows maybe the final mix extra's were already finished and did they release it later to get more sales?

1. Of course, but that doesn't mean they need 4-5 years. I think most games, that aren't shovelware, have a development cycle somewhere between 1 and 2 years. Then again, this is Square we're talking about...

2. Perhaps. The graphics are certainly touched up, however, and there are new worlds as well as new abilities, and new models even for the recurring characters (Lion King Sora/Donald/Goofy, for example)

Maybe Chain of Memories wasn't made by the same team, I'm actually not entirely sure. What you say about KH: Final Mix is quite possible indeed, but I still think putting KH3 at 4-5 years is quite an overstatement.

I would like to be proven wrong mate so I can play it more early.

How long are they working on FFXIII?

Dude. Listen. You can take release dates to show how long it went between the original game and it's sequel. Hell, I do it all the time. You can, however, NOT take the US release date seeing as how Japan gets KH first. This is what it ACTUALLY looks like:

KH: 03/28/2002

KH2: 12/22/2005

Yes, it's more like 2 years and 9 months than 2½ years, but still. Check up on stuff before you post it.

EDIT: Hahaha, oh my god, I'm so sorry. I can't read numbers tonight at all. My bad, guys. I apologize. It's more like 3½ years after all. However, I still don't think all of that time went into development ;p I'm stubborn like that.

Disney and Nomura have great relations with Sony (at least we better then with Nintendo or MS).

lol. Must be why Disney always talks about the Wii and DS but barely about the PS3 (or 360)...right?

Always talk about Wii and DS? Disney have great relations with Sony and latest Sing star proves it.

Singstar...

...For the PS2.

Does it matter? Disney is big supporter of blu-ray and was important factor in HD format war. As i said many times before Disney+Nomura mean KH3 to be PS3 exclusive.

Disney released Turok for the PS360 and have Baja coming up.

Disney movies have sold moderately on Blu ray, not OMG great. On the toher hand, their games on Nintendo systems sell really well. Look at Hannah Montana on the Wii. Near a million. It's obvious Disney characters would appeal more to the Wii than the PS3 owners.

Disney + Nomura = KH3 on PS3? Haha.

The game sold well because of the Disney characters?

To those who are basing the Disney-Sony relationship on Blu Ray ... remember that Sony Pictures has a relationship with Blu Ray too -- and it sells its titles to the highest bidder and they are going multi-platform.

The big question is the audience for this game. If it is younger gamers, then not going to the Wii would be bad business. If it is college-age gamers, then not going to an HD console would be bad business.

And that is what this decision is going to be about -- business.
