Forums - Sales - 10 Most Expensive Video Game Budgets Ever

What about Duke Nukem Forever? That game has ben in development since 07'.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Capcom said that Dead Rising costs were above 50 million (marketing included).

Wait, so FF IX is on the list but X isn't? Consider that with X the developers were dealing with a new system that required a learning curve and better graphics, and on top of that extensive voice acting, that doesn't seem to add up.

Current playing: No More Heroes

1. FF games cost a lot because of the quality of the CGI.... which is also why square did a FF movie, because they had invested heavily in the technology.... of course, now it's affordable to have decent CGI, but in 2000 it was still expensive.

2. How is #2 70M and #3 80M-100M ?????

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

The list is pure BS.
I don't doubt for a minute that MGS4 and GTA4 are the most expensive games ever made, and Shemnue was in Giuness Book 'till GTA4's budget was disclosed, but the rest are just pure speculations.

There's no way Too Human for example hd this kind of bugdet, unless we are talking about the entire trilogy (and even then it is very far fetched) or the lowest salary was 50k a week for the toilet cleaner.

"You have the right to the remains of a silent attorney"

I read somewhere that it cost Blizzard around 50 million to develop world of warcraft. Take into account developments of expansions, content upgrades and the sheer server maintenance and help centre costs etc its most assuredly the most expensive game ever made (and the most profitable lol).

I thought FF7 cost $45 million to make. FF9 and MGS4 were worth every penny IMO. Never Played Shenmue.

FF 13 must be approaching $75 million.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

Shenmue is worth every penny.......... shame on ANYBODY who has not played the masterpeice that is the MIGHTY Shenmue

That including marketing? Thats pretty cheap comparable to James Cameron Titanic, T2 budgets.

GTA 4 was drinking budget for all those dudes running round new york scanning everything right?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
