In september 2008,the Jasper model will have the GPU shrunk from 80 nm to 65 nm,wich from what i know, has a lot less power consumption and heat. So if you are interested in a 360 this Xmass,go for it. Now is the time.

And i hope i have been very explicit.

How do you know wich model are you going to buy............

On every 360 box you can see the manufacture date and power usage. Falcon is 175W while the old models are 203W. Jasper will be around 150W.

Hope i have helped someone. That was the point.

it is pointless to convince some people of the stability of the 360, mostly because of your casual use of the word fanboy, which is exactly what you sound like to me.

in my opinion the RRoD is exactly what microsoft deserves for not having any quality control, and not doing any R&D for their systems.

I WILL NOT CONDONE A COMPANY THAT DOESNT RELEASE A QUALITY PRODUCT!

therefore, i wont ever buy a 360. it really doesnt matter if they fix the problem now, they have done very little to actually stop the problem, natural die shrinks are not a fix, throwing money at the problem to replace bad systems is also not a fix.

If the Falcon was the solution, why are they replacing it with the Jasper? They still have a 10% failure rate. M$ should stick with software, hardware seems to give them major problems.

I have said that ATI is behind the Falcon. That`s why we don`t have many "My Falcon RRoD on me" threads. At first,MS wanted to save millions of dollars by not using ATI`s expertise with GPU`s. Big mistake...1 billion $ mistake actually.

And Jasper is a code name,it`s a Falcon with the GPU at 65 nm. You fanboys are trully loyal to your supreme master, the PlayStation brand. Imagine if MS had that...

So you are trying to say that people should stop buying the 360 because it got better?

Funny how you miss that ps3`s fail not harware, but opticaly. Blueray is a new technology, the same goes for the dvd in the ps2. Did that stop the ps2? No. Did that stop the ps3? No.

You will not buy a 360 for the rest of your life. We got that. Let`s move on.

I believe the failure rate of 360 has gone down - but from it still seems to be too high overall vs other consoles.

MS problem is there is no real way to prove this. The stigma is there that the console is unreliable and its very unlikely to change. All it takes is one post on an internet forum to maintain that view.

MS - like many other companies before it in other fields - is paying the price of releasing something with a major issue and having the perception fix in the public domain.

They'd be better to make a big song and dance publicly about a new model that fixes the issues - and I don't mean new chips or whatever. I'm thinking of what Mercedes did when their A class turned out to tip over. They made it very clear, very publicly, that they'd gone back to the drawing boards, ironed out the issues, and the V2 was fine. MS hasn't really done this I feel.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

people dont listen to him he has been payed to say this.

you can smell the money hatting from a mile away

not gone, but it's not too bad now.
