Forums - Gaming - How bad did Beyond Good and Evil actually sell?

I just never get why games like this sell so poorly?

So many people grumble about 'same old same old' when another FPS, platformer, etc. appears then whenever something pretty original like this or ICO appears that blends genres and delivers a totally cohesive experience they avoid it like the plague.

Oh well... at least those of us who have played it know it for the gem it is.

I really hope the next one is both good and sells well.

It comes down to the same situation you run into when dating; what a person says and what a person wants are not always the same. Which sucks, but whachagonnado?

Beyond Good and Evil was released during a glut of games since it was the holidays when it came out and that's why it sold poorly

i can't believe the gamecube version is $14.99 used. The PS2 version is only 4.99! Is it still worth it?

The only thing I heard it sold best on gamecube although I'm not sure about that.

Why would you ask such a question with a bias in it. Why not just ask, "How did Beyond Good and Evil sell in the market?" It's going to get you a lot more responsive answer if they are available.

Other than that I have no idea how it sold. Your best guess is my best guess.

Bias??? Isn't it a known fact that it didn't sell that good?

Really?  You have numbers or statements to prove that haha.  As far as I know there's no telling how it sold.  I thought that many people didn't think it sold well because it took so long for a sequel to arise which is probably a smart assumption.

And yes you can put bias into anything if you flip it the way you want it to.  There's a difference in asking how good something is and how bad something is.  Your asking the exact same question but the answers you'll get will be totally different.

But if you know numbers and statements I'd be glad to see them because I personally have no idea how this sold.

To be honest, I don't know any numbers or statements and I'm to lazy to look them up, It's just what everyone has been saying, so I got the knowledge from others. What I'm sure of though is that it didn't sell as good as ubisoft thought it would. You will have to look for yourself for that statement though because hey I'm still too lazy.
