Forums - Nintendo - Rockband & Guitar Hero instruments not compatible on Wii

This is old news. If i get one, it'll be GH

Around the Network

Its GHWT all the way. Its a fully featured game afer all, and not a dirty port. Harmonix cn go to hell after their half assed RB port.

That sucks anyway I'll get gh4 but not rockband, lol at the darth vader pic XD

hehehe that's what you get by porting a game from another console... it's safe to say that GH will sell alot more.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Harmonix has totally and consistantly screwed themselves when it comes to the Wii.

First those morons decided not to release RB on Wii until they saw the fantastic GH sales (GH's #1 system for sales according to IGN - which means probably according to NPD)

Second when they did release on Wii it was months late with an unenhanced PS2 port. By the time it launched Activision had already announced the FAR superior GH4 and Sega had announced downloadable content for Samba de Amigo making RB look like some kind of poor joke.

Third - the above (non-compatiblity). Stupid long term planning here.

Forth - Giving 360 RB2 time exclusivity which allows GH4 to gain an even greater foothold on the Wii market.

Fifth - RB2 seems weak compared to the offerings on GH4 especially the Wii version which has the Mii jam feature as well as song editor/writing/sharing.

As far as the Wii goes Harmonix has essencially given GH a free ticket to reign supreme. Someone there really should lose their jobs because this consistant oversight is costing them millions in potential revenue.

I heard that it's only compatible through the PS3. Not sure though.

Istruments will also be compatible on the 360. I'm glad I got a PS3 so I can enjoy both games but I really wish I hadn't bought GH:3 before I got my PS3, now I have to figure out how to get rid of my Wii version of GH3 for the most money.

Looks like the Wii sales of RockBand will be kinda low. And do you know who's fault this is? Rock Band's!

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

EA/Harmonix is sinking their own ship.

Not many improvements in RB2 from RB1.

Poor Wii support on both hardware and DLC.

Timed exclusivity to 360.

Worse hardware quality.

No editor or midi inputs.

Any idiot can look at the Wii GHIII sales and see there is a huge opportunity there, except EA perhaps.

There is hope that the GHWT instruments work with RB2, if that's the case I would think about buying RB2, otherwise it's a no buy for me.

^Unless they overhaul the Wii instruments for RB2 (something that they have yet to announce in any of the previews) there isn't a chance in hell it's going to work.

Besides RB has been touting that all the old instruments will work with the new and that the new would work with the old, this simply isn't possible with the Wii because of the lack of patches on that console.

I put the odds of RB2 and GH4 instruments being compatible at 1million to 1.
