So I have a Dell XPS that is about 3 years old and while it was incredible 3 years ago (I would be runing two 1900x1200 resolutions, iTunes, Photoshop, Outlook, 3DMax, and whatever editor I happened to be working in and everything ran fine), it's just not that good today unfortunately. I had planned to buy a computer in about a years time but today the graphics card finally gave out on me (while surfing this site actually...I blame ioi).
My warranty ran out 3 months ago so getting this thing fixed they said would cost me around $500 and for that kind of money I can get a decent PC or a for a little more I can get a decent laptop.
So all you people that love to tell me how great PC gaming is, I'm at your mercy: what should I get?
Keep these things in mind:
- I do not want to spend more than $1000
- I prefer laptops
- I would like to be able to play most current games, though I don't really care about anything that is alreay on the 360 or anything uber like Crysis. Mainly I would like to be able to play MMO's, Spore, and Starcraft II
- I don't have the time to build my own PC
- I will not get a mac
