Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'm not even the first to point it out. Excusing somebody for their crimes simply because they're the leader of your country is more or less fascism. You should never assume that somebody is right by default because they are in power, nor should you assume that they are wrong. Take in the facts and judge fairly, not allowing cultural or national bias to cloud your judgment. That's my take on it, anyway.

How the hell did Hitler kill 20 million people? I don't believe that for a second.

If I take the high end of every estimate (6 million Jews instead of 5 million, 8 million Soviets instead of 4.5 million, etc. etc.), it only comes up to 19 million, but if I average them all out it's more like 15 million-ish.

He's not even close to Stalin, or even Mao. Hitler is a DISTANT THIRD.

Hitler is a popular person to use as an example of an inherently evil leader, especially since his Antisemitism policies tug at the heartstrings of the devout of Western religions. It's sad, but there are a significant number of people who would say Hitler was worse than Mao or Stalin simply because he killed Jewish faithful. As if somehow a person's worth is less if they don't believe in a Western religion.

Just a correction on the chart. Hitler was a socialist. In fact, Nazi = National Socialist. The only fascist policies he pursued were the gov't control of factories during the war time.

And Kim Jon Il was elected president of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Hitler was not socialist, in fact he barely leaned right on the economic scale.  Fascist is exactly what Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and others of the like were.

Thats a crappy list.  Why are civil wars on there, as if the leaders killed people themselves in the political turmoil.  Why are Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis not on this list?

If Ho Chi Minh is on that list then Richard Nixon and several other Americans should be on that list.  Ho Chi Minh was loved by Vietnam and the United States blocked a nationwide vote that would had determined their leader (Eisenhower stated that Ho Chi Minh would win 90 percent of the vote if it was conducted).

Did Germany and Russia kill a million people each during World War I that wasn't directly involved with the war itself?  I see they glossed over the British, French, and Americans.

The South simply seceded, which we had a legal right to do at the time (though that right has long since been destroyed).  Had Lincoln just let us go, there would've been no fighting.
