Forums - Microsoft - Do you think the 360 'deserved' to be selling much better?

They did half of it to themselves; rushing it out the door causing RROD, releasing half they're exclusives on PC, getting a bad image too early(shootbox 360), and really having no single amazing feature as the other companies built straight in to the console. Other then those 3 things, I can't understand why they haven't been selling multitudes more. They say the PS2 won by its games catalog; why isn't the same effect happening for the 360?

Personally, I wouldn't care less about the console war if Microsoft wasn't being so fervent about it. I'm afraid that they might lose hope in their abilities and we won't see an Xbo 720...Thats why I'm such an upstart 360 fan. I don't want them gone after the amazing games they've given me.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Yes they have put a lot of effort, but the faulty hardware is what is keeping it behind.

The big games like Gears' sales on pc are a small fraction of what they are on 360.  Hell even CoD4 did better on 360.  Perhaps it should be looked at the other way around.  360 is grabbing some big pc exclusive games.  Being able to rent games is a big plus for me.

Yep and now that Gears 2 is exclusive to the 360 all the fanboys in the world cannot attack MS for not doing their job in keeping exclusivity alive.

How many of those amaizing games did MS developed? if MS was gone all of those games would've ended on the PC or PS3, the diference i see between the big 3 is that Sony and Nintendo have the best first party games/internal studios.

Systems owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox360

Currently Playing: UNCHARTED 2 !!

Waiting for: FFXIII, GoW3, GT5, Mass Effect 2

IF MS didn't exist, Sony would suck at online and wouldn't target the FPS fanbase, nor would they have increased the power of their system.

If MS didn`t exist, you would still be paing 600$ for your Blue Ray player that also plays games, still waiting for your games to come and receiving an average online experience. So say "thank you MS" and enjoy your system. I am doing that and so sould you

There are some things in this that are not true (games would be here anyway, there would be competition through the Wii ...) but all console gamers have to thank MS for

a) Bringing more PC developers to the console world. Not only to the 360 but also to the PS3

b) setting new standards for online functionality by bringing many things that are normal in PC gaming to consoles

c) Providing direct feature-by-feature competition to Sony. I do not believe one second that we would have free online play, a replaceable HD or DivX support in the PS3 without MS.

So thank you MS. (I still think the 360 has huge flaws )
