One thing I have noticed is that Obama has stopped seeing popularity gains since he won the primary, and I think one of the biggest reasons for this is that he is overexposed in the media and people are starting to get burned out. This is not the biggest problem in the world but it is one of the common problems for why some politicians peak too early ... if the media keeps pushing him as hard as they're he could see a couple of point decline in popularity and it could become hard to get the turn-out he needs to win.

Welcome to last month.  Anyone who has been watching this election closely knows that Obama's lead over McCain has been dwindling ever since the media was accused of being in love with him.  They've even went so far as to bring up the "August Slump" that has beleagured so many Democratic nominees in the past.

What I really want is for Obama to go head-on with McCain in a debate. I want Barrack to prove that he's not an empty suit for the Democratic party. Go ahead and talk about a Biden/Palin debate, I care about, you know, the actual Presidential candidates.

Obama will need more than a nice smile and the words "hope & change" to outduel McCain face to face. If he does it, good for him. It troubles me that he's hesitant to debate McCain in a townhall setting.

why? 

Biden is the one that will be telling obama what hes supposed to do and say...and McCain will die after a day in office apparently.

I'm the opposite actually. I want to get hamstered and watch the Biden/Palin debates. Maybe I'll eat some of my liberal drugs that make me crazy.



Naw, I can't wait for the other debates either. I think McCain would've had a chance 10 years ago, and would've been a billion times better than Bush/Cheney, but I don't think he's got the magic anymore. I think he crashed the Straight Talk Express into the rest of the party and let them build him some sort of Backwardsmobile.

It's very possible that McCain doesn't have that magic anymore. What I want to see is Obama off the cuff. What i've seen thus far hasn't impressed me much.

Frankly, Obama talks a great game. So did Kerry. It's going to take more than that. What we've seen so far is preseason. Now it's going to get ugly and Barrack better have some real answers for the public. McCain has a lot less he needs to prove to America.

All he has is tired leberal policies geered towards gratel to grave governmental structural like Europe which is not AmeriCa.
